I heard Altuve got a hit but was also HBP. He’s probably okay, though.

Feldman always seems to pitch two innings and not give up any runs. Makes you wonder why his era is above 1.

We have guys in the minor leagues stealing bases by the dozens....Dawson, Wrenn, Straw come to mind immediately. Kemp stole a lot of bases in the minors. Tucker too.. Yet when they get to Houston base stealing is not a part of the game. They get on base and then wait to die on base, score on a home run or be on the front end of a double play. SMH.

Is their success rate 80+%? in the minors? Straw has stolen 63 bases in 71 attempts this season (88.7%) Dawson has stolen 31 bases in 44 attempts this season (70.5%) Stephen Wrenn has stolen 39 bases in 49 attempts this season (79.6%) Kemp has stolen 67 bases in 90 attempts at AAA in his career (74.4%) Tucker has stolen 18 bases in 21 attempts at AAA this season (85.7%) One I overlooked: Josh Rojas has stolen 36 bases in 47 attempts this season (76.6%) I’m thinking that every stolen base represents a potential force out eliminated. So you can’t just focus your attention on how many outs can be attributed to runners being caught stealing. You have to also consider how many outs you saved by eliminating double play opportunities when the runners were successsful in their attempt to steal a base and you have to consider how many more runs you gain as a result of runners stealing bases and putting themselves in position to score on a single, rather than being held at third and eventually dying there.

Sure, but success rates are generally lesser at the MLB level too. So if they're lower than 80% in the minors doesn't necessarily translate well once they get promoted.

I'm not arguing we shouldn't be stealing more (we should). Just thinking why. I think teams are more and more afraid of injuries, and obviously becoming more reliant on HRs.

Beer is hot tonight. Just hit a grand slam for Buies Creek in the top of the eighth. Man we are really getting some great pitching tonight at Quad Cities, Buies Creek and Corpus Christi. Fresno game hasn’t started yet.
Beer’s home run came off a left handed pitcher. That is a good sign.
