Looks like Giles found a role for himself.... “saving” meaningless games. You got to hand to to Giles though. He proved he could get AAA players out today. Something that he lacked his last few appearances at Tuscon. When he got the last out, he acted like he just saved a game that clinched a playoff spot. If there had been pressure, he would have folded like an accordion.

The highlights of the game for me were
- seeing some very good individual performances in spite of the unfavorable final score. McCullers and Straw were especially encouraging.
- Getting to hear the KBME 790 broadcast. Finally got an mlb.tv subscription and what a nice feature that is to hear the (quite possibly superior) commentary on 790.
- Great job by the pitching staff, even the B-team pitchers, after the Devo HR.
- Even though it isn't pretty to see Devo fall apart, at least he is doing so loud and clear so that Hinch doesn't have to ponder whether to put him in the ALDS.
This was one of the harder divisions in baseball to win this year so the Astros can hold their heads high.
KMBE guys were saying Reddick had been scheduled to start but then was scratched from the lineup due to some leg problem. I wonder if it is that pesky old spider bite still.

Correa shouldn't be on the playoff roster. If Correa is just recovering, and not injured, you put him on the roster. The guy you replace him with does not have the difference maker abilities that Correa possesses...Plus, he is a better SS defensive than what you he could be replaced with.... Correa is a Ride or Die player....

Y'all boys know it's not "fans" hating on Correa...it's "Corch".

Correa's swings looked better yesterday. I'm not worried about the strikeouts (he had just missed 4 games). If he can make good full swings, he'll come around.

I am still waiting to see some indication that he can help us in the post-season. He has basically been AWOL this season.

So someone with a second half OPS of 0.481 is a lock to make a playoff roster? I'm not saying he doesn't have talent and we should DFA him. But I don't see how he's going to help us in the playoffs. Correa isn't a gold glover, can only play one position, and is not a base-stealer, so I don't think Correa is useful as as a bench player either.
I mean Tucker has a ton of talent and it's not looking like he will make the roster.

If his back is feeling better there is no reason to believe he can't be another dominant player for the postseason.

Correa was not doing much by his standards before he went on the DL for a back issue.

Correa in 2018 pre-back issues was still very very good. Even if not as good as last year.
