Nice day’s work for Kemp. I seem to remember some of our forum experts weren't wanting him on the roster. I believe you remember correctly.

I seem to remember some of our forum experts weren't wanting him on the roster. I believe you remember correctly. For the postseason roster? Who would people have picked instead? With the OBP ability he showed during the season it seems like a no-brainer. I'm not even sure I wouldn't start him again at DH....

if I'm not mistaken, the Astros have outscored the Tribe 21 to 5 so far in the series. Not bad. Not bad.

I’m embarrassed for the Indians. It feels like we're the Braves, they're the Astros and it's 17 years ago

At least, Hector Rondon must like what he is seeing this inning.

Nearly all the 25 players on the ALDS roster got to play. Morton and James are the only ones I can think of who didn't play.

If Harris is on the ALCS roster, I will be convinced that he has some dirt on AJ and/or Luhnow.

could be quite a wait till the ALCS depending on what NYY and BOS do. The main thing now is to stay sharp through practice and not look rusty in G1 of the ALCS.

If Maldonado could have a game where he didn't let a ball get by him with runners on, Harris wouldn't have given up a run either. Great work by the bullpen and the pitchers in general. Keuchel wasn't magical but he got results too.
Can't be more pleased with how this team is looking.

After two terrible at bats, George showed why he nails it in the post-season. Nothing bigger today, in my opinion, was that home run by Correa....it takes a load off his shoulders and could go a long way to him being a big contributor the rest of the way.
I was not sold on Kemp being on the roster because he was slumping at the end of the regular season, but, he showed today why we need him. Marwin is also showing why we would be dead wrong not to try to re-sign him.....he is clutch in the playoffs. I don't mind keeping Keuchel, but, Marwin should be a priority.
This team showed in this series why they are the best team in baseball. As one announcer said.....I think it was Eckersley.....who said the Astros are on a mission to repeat

You need to stop showing your bias against Maldonado just because your boy Stassi isn' t on the roster. Harris had no business on the roster.........Smith, Rondon and Peacock are all better options. Hopefully, Harris is replaced for the ALCS. James should have gotten the 9th instead of that worthless Harris.

By many measures, this is the best the Astros have ever played in franchise history... even in comparison to the 1998 and 2017 teams.

If you're good with him hitting .125 and letting pitches get by him, go for it. I'm not okay with that level of performance. That's not bias; that's "using my eyes". Harris, Rondon, Smith, and Peacock are all basically the same thing. I'm sure they're looking at match-ups for each level of the postseason. So far Hinch is dominating the postseason again with his roster decisions and pitching moves.

I am not OK with passed balls no matter who is catching, but, no catcher controls a WILD PITCH, and, Harris threw a wild pitch. That was NOT Maldonado's fault. We don't have a catcher who is hitting, but, Maldonado had a home run in game one and McCann looked horrible today. Maldonado is the best defensive catcher. Both Maldonado and McCann are better options than Stassi would not hit any pitcher we are likely to see and he couldn't throw either of the other two out if they were on an opposing team. We will probably try to re-sign Maldonado....McCann will more than likely retire....and Stassi could stick as a backup, but, that is it. Stassi is a competent backup..that's all.

In a month we can start to pick apart all the offseason moves the Astros can make. Catcher certainly seems to be one of the positions where a trade or FA signing will be needed.
I think Tyler Flowers will be FA and I can't remember if Yasmani Grandal is still going to be available. Maybe Garrett Stubbs steps up in spring training but that's a big "if".
For now, though, the guys have to be happy getting back into the ALCS and having a shot to represent the AL in the WS.

Catchers are back there to keep balls in front of them as well as throw out runners. Maldonado is good at one of those and horrible at the other. It went off his glove so it isn't like it was uncatchable. At some point, he needs to do better. That's just obvious.
