Which valuable prospects are you willing to trade so the Astros can increase their WS chances this year? Of our MLB.com Top 30: JB Bukauskus Seth Beer OP... Was surprised these two made your list. Any reason these have fallen from grace? I trust your judgement, but hmmmmmmm.

I'd try to trade players who are having average to above average years. The old adage goes, Buy low and Sell high.

Those guys haven’t fallen from grace with me and I wouldn’t include them in a trade for just anyone. I wouldn’t trade them for a rental, but if the right deal came along for a quality SP who could help us win the WS this year and be around beyond this season, I would. When it comes to Bukauskus, we just have so much pitching depth in the minor leagues I could part with him if that’s what it took to get a quality ML starter who would be with the Astros for the stretch run this year and a couple more years beyond this year. In the case of Beer, it seems that he is a DH type.... all hit and no glove... and he is said to be slow as molasses.

Something totally unexpected is going on at Advanced A Fayetteville. Astros #23 prospect Jonathan Arauz went 5-6 with a double tonight. He is on a 5-game hitting streak in which he is 14-21 and has only struck out twice. This is a guy who batted .167 in 71 games at Advanced A last season and batted .213 in April this season.

And with that incredible run he has his average all the way up to 244. Everyone there seems to have a tough time hitting. Other than Beer no one is hitting in a note worthy fashion. Must be the new ball park.

I just looked at the stats for Quad Cities. They have one player with a OPS over .800.... and his is .802. Most of them have OPS in the .500s - .600s.

Brady Rodgers got called up. He has no future with Houston. Would be great if he pitched lights-out and created some trade value.

Our golden boy Whitley is getting worse, not better. He started tonight’s game for Round Rock. He lasted 2 innings. Allowed 6 hits, 3 walks, 2 home runs, 7 earned runs and struck out 1. His ERA is now 12.21.
On the bright side, through 5 innings Tucker is 1-1 with a walk and his 13th home run.

Abraham Toro is on a tear at AA Corpus. He is on a 9-game hitting streak in which he is 16-33 with 2 home runs 8 Ks and 7 walks. He’s batting .325 for the season. He should be in AAA next month.

Wow. Beer must really be slow. The Hooks went into extra innings tonight and since Beer made the last out the previous inning, he was placed on second base as the gimme runner to start the inning. The Corpus manager pulled him from the game and replaced him with a pinch runner.... catcher Lorenzo Quintana.

At Advanced A Jonathan Arauz has a 7-game hitting streak in which he is 16-27 with 4 walks and just 2 strikeouts. I’m thinking he gets promoted to AA when Toro gets promoted to AAA.
