Nothing too good here with two strikes.

Correa is beating out infield dribblers and Altuve has a .600+ SLG... Role reversals...

Pressley is a great addition. Totally a different pitcher when he was with the Twins. A steal deal.

On "High Heat" today Mad Dog was saying how Britton has been a flop for the Yankees. In a way that was a good trade not made.

Big win and sweep of the homestand. Altuve and Correa are healthy and it shows. Great job by McHugh and Pressly. Hinch almost let James blow the game before pulling him. James needs to be sent down. The guy that Bortaz says can't play was 3 for 3. I knew it had to be a good night when Stassi and Wbite got hits.

Good win in the face of adversity. I was really worried there in the 8th the bullpen was going to fully implode and give up the lead. However, Pressly came in and was nails as usual. Love our 8th and 9th inning guys right now, I fully trust them. As for the rest of the bullpen, I'm not completely sure about them yet.
Time to go to Seattle, where we typically play well and take care of business!

The math of the 8th inning was something to behold.
When the inning began, the Astros' chances of winning were 98.91% with the score of 7-2. When James left the game, the chances were 82%. The double off Rondon moved Houston's win probability to 67%. As much of a nailbiter as the inning was, that was as low as the Astros win probability got.
The sac fly Rondon then allowed actually increased HOU's chances of winning to 68% because getting an out outweighed the damage done by the run scored. That stabilized things.
Altuve catching the line drive for out 2 increased chances to 81%. It was a huge out and, had Hinch positioned the defense differently, the whole game could have turned at that point.
Pressly K'ing Sanchez increased the chances to 88%. Hard to overstate the importance of that K.
In the 9th inning, Jake's single followed by NYY's throwing error, Springer's RBI single, and Springer's steal of 2B increased winning chances to 96%.
Yuli's GIDP to end the inning decreased the winning chances only slightly, to 94%. In the bottom of the 9th, Judge's single moved the winning chances down to 93% (as the tying run was now at the plate), but that is as hairy as it got on Pressly's watch.
------
Point simply being, if we want to question whether Hinch waited too long to pull James, the past 60 years of baseball box scores say that the Astros still had over an 80% chance of winning when James was pulled. And even with inherited runners scoring under Rondon, that only dropped to as low as 67%.

I guess you could argue Boone blew the whole series by taking Tanaka out too early in Game 1. Provided we hold on here A lot of Yankees fans think so.

This is what happens when Osuna is used three days in a row. Osuna should rest. I think Pressly should’ve been brought in instead of Rondón. I would agree with that. He will never tell us, but it would be interesting to know why Hinch went with Rondon. Rest time? L/R matchup? Previous success against the next couple of batters?

My wife wants to know why I am holding up a broom yelling at the tv. Some people just don't get it. My girlfriend warned me that if I didn't shut up, the neighbors were going to call the police for disturbance of the peace. (It was 10:30pm when I was watching on tape delay.)
