White cannot simply be demoted bc he's out of minor league options. If the Astros wanted him to return to AAA, they would have to put him on waivers, and he'd be snatched up in a NY instant. They could simply release him, at which point he would be a free agent. But they can't just send him to Round Rock like they can do with Framber or Guduan.
Yesterday, White was really getting squeezed by the umpire in his first 2 PAs. First pitches on both PAs were way outside the strike zone according to statcast, yet were called strikes to start him out 0-1.
Also AJ is really challenging him by putting him in games against predominantly RHP, which is not his forte. Anyway let's see how he looks after 100 PAs. 5 or 6 bombs in there, and everybody will be breaking out their shark hats again.

I have to admit though I agree with Corch about White. Although he's shown consistency at the minor level, he's hasn't shown it in the majors. And I can't help being reminded of Brett Walrus when
I read his slump has an asterisk next to it cause he too was a patient hitter during the time he showed flashes of the ability to hold down a starting job in MLB. And that didn't turn out as hoped
Not to compare the two, but I can't think of another way to end that thought

Both tubby 1B, but no other similarities in actual production.
