And THAT is why we like Kemp more than Marisnick.

I can't believe Kemp's the hero after all the razzing he's got this year. That's so awesome

That one will make the highlight reels, heck, might even make the mlb.tv commercial break rotation.

Maybe that will get Kemp going. Hit in the perfect spot. Chance for a 4-3 homestand with a win tomorrow night.

on to National televised Game #2 and hopefully a series split. Rockets win in Game 1 would be a sweet appetizer

I was pulling for him to hit for Stassi, the team dud, and it worked out great. We would have been better off keeping Gattis as backup catcher

Kemp this year reminds me of Gattis last year. He doesn't hit his weight more often than not, he doesn't really have a position to play, but you root for him in a pinch cause he's so likeable

We would have been better off keeping Gattis as backup catcher Kemp was never an All Star, but did his job the best: pinch hitter/late sub. I’m getting tired of seeing White and Stassi blow RBI chances.

He doesn't hit his weight more often than not, he doesn't really have a position to play, but you root for him in a pinch cause he's so likeable I like Gattis as a person, but I couldn’t stand his approach and look at the plate. He looked like he just hit the gym and learned how to hit by watching YouTube videos. If he were a decent catcher, he’d have his utility here, but it was apparent the team had no more interest in that (judging by his being full-time DH). As with Tim’s distaste for Jake, I had the same feeling for Gattis because if fans got past his look, nickname, and likability, they’d understand that he was a replaceable player. It speaks volumes that he still is unsigned. I wish him the best, though. He still is a good guy who overcame a lot of inner demons.

But one thing I’ve never questioned with Gattis was his effort, which is my knock on White. Gattis gave it his all even if it wasn’t enough for the team, and I commend him for that. White landed a dream job with a team full of superstars and drank and ate his way to the chiseled physique you see today with his friggin zero homers and RBI’s a month into the season.

I will take Kemp at the plate over Jake, Stassi, or White, but, if we need defense it's Jake all the way. Kemp is mediocre in the OF and should never be in CF.
