Can’t believe Keuchel is still unsigned.

Can’t believe Keuchel is still unsigned. I’m shocked as well. I wonder why there’s a holdup. Even the Brewers passed on him to re-sign Gio Gonzalez.

Well, I wonder who ended the Astros momentum in that big inning. Hmmm. I like how you trash Jake while he is out-hitting Bregman and Altuve. t won't continue but he is right now.

Can’t believe Keuchel is still unsigned. I can. Not many teams will offer a long-term contract to a batting practice pitcher

The real Keuchel is somewhere between the opinions of himself and Da Corch. But that's a very wide gap. The market is showing some signs of fiscal sanity or a blown budget. I'm hoping for the former, but afraid it might be the latter after the late off season signings.

Can’t believe Keuchel is still unsigned. Keuchel is no longer an elite player. He and his agent are going to have to come to this realization. He wants to be paid top-of-the-rotation money for 4-5 years AND a team that signs him will have to forfeit a high draft pick. I am not surprised that teams have decided he is not worth that price. I could be wrong, but it is my understanding that, if he isn’t signed by the time the Rule 4 draft is completed, the draft pick compensation goes away. I don’t look for any team to sign him before the Rule 4 draft, unless he comes way down off his asking price. Here is a link to a good article on the QO that helps explain why Keuchel remains unsigned: www.mlbdailydish.com/2019/1/22/18192814/qualifying-offer-in-baseball-its-intent-and-consequences-keuchel-pollock-grandal

I'm hoping for the former, but afraid it might be the latter after the late off season signings. The reality is that Keuchel has become a middle of the rotation starter, and a lot of that has to do with umpires not giving him those wide and low strikes. He hasn’t shown the ability to adjust for that and has given up his share of hits. I believe he surrendered the most hits of any starting pitcher in 2018. If I were him, I’d find a good team with a killer defensive infield and beg their GM to sign me. That’s the only way he could look good enough next season for a lucrative offer.

Well, I think it's obvious that sempersmom has locked down the role of thread starter. She needs to start the GDT until further notice.

After a couple of bad games, Refugees were already not wanting to extend him, and wanted McPoo instead. I think some people here are looking for a reason to not like him or get over him in case he really does leave. More like if he pitches well enough to earn a 6-year deal, it's not likely Luhnow will pony-up for that
