I knew that, since your son played for the Lufkin LL team. My mother is from there. I still have family there (and lots of family buried there), though I rarely see them. Where do you live?

^^^ I actually worked on the some of the first few houses built in the Woodlands. Who knew back then that it would be what it is today. When it was still mostly Woods and Deer.

Houston has gotten a lot bigger in the last 50 years. I was reading the other day about the 1959 1A state football championship. A small school named Sundown played another 1A school from the Houston area. Sundown is still a tiny school. They lost the '59 state title game to... the Katy Tigers. So Katy was 1A in '59 and today there are, what, 6-8 6A schools there? Amazing.

I had an Uncle (Charles Gilstrap) that was a Corporate Pilot for Lufkin Industries. Unfortunately, he was one of the pilots when the plane encountered freak icing conditions and went down many years ago (1980).
