Hinch said Correa needed a "memtal" day off today. Exactly what the hell he means I'm not sure. We already have Springer and Altuve out so giving Correa a mental day off makes no sense. He needs to have his ass in the lineup doing his job.

On the WGN broadcast, they said Dickie Thon was in the stadium. That he had come out to see Joe Madden because they were roommates together in the minors. I'd love to see Thon do an inning with Blummer and Kalas.

Cole's peripherals don't support the earned runs he's allowed ain't that the truth. Cole leads MLB in xFIP at 2.38. His HR/FB rate is 20.8% but it won't stay that high as the season wears on. That's been the main thing driving up his ERA. |

Fisher was clocked at 30.1 ft/sec when at full stride on his triple. That's pretty darn fast in comparison with the 27 ft/sec MLB average.
It's great to have this chance to showcase Fisher as we get close to the July trade deadline.

Apparently, SuperJack nearly got the call-up a couple weeks ago in Boston but then the brass changed their mind: "“I feel like there’s a lot of coaches, present and past, who wish they could be the one who called him up because he’s that good of a guy.”
