Anybody who gets pinch hit for by fat ass White needs to be sent back to RR. Hinch wanted to lose this game......using fat ass to pinch hit and bringing that worthless Guduan in from the pen....Also. this is about the time that Harris turns to horse shit and he has not surprised. Hinch is folding when he puts in Guduan....and the weirdest thing the last two times he has done this the Astros were only down one.. Guduan has to be the worst player the Astros have had since their 100 loss game seasons. Agreed. He is mailing it in when he uses Guduan. He should be released and so should White. Straw needs to be in there ahead of Mayfield or Fisher. Hearing Luhnow talk during the game sounds like he thinks Fisher is ready to stay.....I can't believe it.

Nice to have an automatic out leading off He keeps the second baseman busy fielding ground balls and tbrowing him out. Are you ever happy with any lineup?
I'm settling in with a stuffed crust sausage pizza with extra sauce and meat. It's the closest I can come to a Chicago Style pizza.
ps That's the only good thing to ever come out of Chicago.
Corch is what they would call a bitch-ass in TDC.

I can’t wait for Diaz to replace Mayfield’s spot on the roster. I don’t see what they’ve got to lose having Straw at SS and Kemp at 2B. Straw needs to be in the lineup. He could have made a difference today. Mayfield is not a major league player, Mayfield was a feel good story that no longer feels good. He had his Crash Davis moment, now he can go back to the minors and tell about his time in The Show

Guduan is quickly earning himself a release. hes been doing the same thing for several years and still gets the call up every time. Why would this particular episode be the reason he gets released?

Actually, Marisnick is batting 6th today. You sound like Bortaz.........Fisher is z joke as a leadoff man Ironically, Fisher was the best Astros' hitter today. 1-3 with a walk and was the only run for the team.

A rumor will be leaked that he does not like or shop at HEB, he prefers Kroger....and furthermore, he thinks JJ Watts' fiance is a beard. That would about do it...

His home run numbers are good but he doesn’t seem locked in like he was last season and the line drives aren’t as common. He’s hitting more infield grounders and weak fly balls. Maybe playing now like how he did then is a lofty expectation for him, but that’s mainly what got him his current contract. He's on pace for a better season than last year... I hope so but that average needs to go up.

Actually, Marisnick is batting 6th today. You sound like Bortaz.........Fisher is z joke as a leadoff man Fisher is doing fine. He's got a .345 OBP and is stealing bases and has shown some power. He was 1-3 with a BB today. Why would you complain about him of all people?

Guduan is quickly earning himself a release. hes been doing the same thing for several years and still gets the call up every time. Why would this particular episode be the reason he gets released? Well in a very short showing last season he had looked a little better. But he's quickly proving that was a fluke.

Fisher is the top of the list of players likely to replace the worthless Joke Marisnick.

For some reason, I thought he was still in the .260’s. Bregman is our smallest concern imo. Well, yeah, I’m not saying he’s a major problem, but he is going to need to hit with more consistency to guide the team. The rest of them are all nervous AAA guys. The lead in the division is great, but it can actually slip away if they’re not careful. Calling up Yordan might not work, but at least it’s better than trotting Mayfield our there daily.

You still haven't figured out that Fisher nor any of the other call-ups are going to replace Jake. Even though you are wrong, you never give up. That is being consistent as well as being too dumb to see the obvious.........They are not going to get rid of one of the top defensive outfielders in the game.......one who saves countless runs..........and replace him with some guy from RR. Fisher isn't capable of carrying Jake's glove. Fisher has had chance after chance to prove he belongs here and has never done it. I'll admit he looks better now but he is still belongs in RR. I'll take Straw over Fisher all day long.

For some reason, I thought he was still in the .260’s. Bregman is our smallest concern imo. Bregman and Brantley are not getting much to hit due to not having people in the lineup to protect them. Big difference in Springer, Altuve, and Correa than those replacing them.

With the injuries we have., Bregman needs to be driving in runs rather than taking walks and hitting popups. He is much better when the other guys are in the lineup with him.

Don't let facts get in the way of an opinion set in stone. Fisher is playing at a replacement level. He's not bad, but he has huge upside if he get's the ABs. Here's hoping for a Bregman breakout.

Todd and I differ a little on how we feel about OBP. Getting on base is important, but I feel that stat can mask a certain passiveness at the plate at times. I feel like Bregman has been taking hittable pitches, especially when ahead in the count, that he would have crushed last season. The greatest example of all this was Morgan Ensberg back in ‘06. He got on base at a great clip (more K’s than BB’s), but that batting average was not great for a run producer. There’s more to hitting than getting on base. I’m not saying Bregman isn’t getting enough home runs because he’s doing great at that, but the weak fly balls and grounders need to turn more into line drives even if they’re hit right to fielders. He’s shown stretches of that this season, but we need to see it more consistently. Other than that, he’s doing a great job.

Afetr he has cooled off. Timing is what..... 75% of the game? Still, glad the kid got the call up. Let's see what he's got.

It blends the benefits of OBP and SLG to derive a better batter stat.

OPS and OPS+ are what I prefer also. That's why Bregman having a better OPS than last year (with a lower OBP btw) is why I'm amazed we're talking about Bregman at all.

Home runs are great, but what I liked almost as much as his BB/K ratio is his line drive doubles ability. The 51 last season was elite and actually a bit more impressive than the 30 bombs. If he got back to more of that, it’d be excellent. I don’t know why the homers are coming but not the doubles.
