Valdez vs. Lynn
Well unfortunately we get less of a break than any other team in baseball outside of the Rangers. Doesn't seem right, but, it is what it is. Despite a fairly pedestrian June, a nice start to July got us right back in there close to being the top team in baseball (even with all of our fan bitching sessions).
We're positioned exactly where we need to be for the second "half" of the season. With any luck we'll get Correa and Diaz back soon and be back to even better than before now that we have Alvarez up. Hopefully an additional starting pitcher will get added in the next couple weeks as well, but, even if it doesn't, I still like our overall team over anybody in the AL at the moment. The Dodgers' rotation is pretty scary, but our top-3 are just as good as their's.
We need to see more production from Altuve this second half, and it would be nice to see Chirinos and Reddick both pick it up a little again. They had really really good starts but have steadily been slowing down. If we can get Bregman and a few others to start hitting better with RISP, we should be in excellent shape.
A trip to Arlington to get the bats started should be a good way to begin, but let's just hope that Framber can channel his early season success.

Eh, he had one really bad showing in the 2015 ALDS. Otherwise, he hasn't been that bad. (And that was a year where he had thrown more innings than he had ever thrown before.) In our championship run he had a 2.25 ERA that postseason. |

He always seems pretty in control of himself to me. For the record, I don't trust him the way I do Pressly or Britton in his prime. I just feel that he has been a damn good reliever for us, but has a bad rep because he had a poor showing in one postseason series. |
