Why I am unhappy with Urquidy today. The Astros were on a high, he knew he was going to lose his starting spot in the rotation (most likely) and yet he went out there and stunk it up. The pressure got to him and I do not like players that have problems battling under pressure situations. I'm not going to say he's trash, but that speaks volumes to me. So glad we added pitching depth.

I predict that we get routed today, and, too late, Luhnow will realize he should have traded for a pitcher to replace Urquidy js Better to be half right than entirely wrong.

We have to put the new guys somewhere and he's assignable to the minors.

My guess is that he is sent down today and keeps his 40 man spot. He will be back next year.

No doubt he knew he would be out of the rotation after we made those trades. Instead of seeing it as a challenge, he tucked his tail and ran like a little bitch. No guts shown.

The Squid knows that another good outing would have had him sitting pretty in the long relief role. I am disappointed too, but your can't forget those two previous expected outings fresh from the farm.

Seriously, you have a unheralded rookie pitcher, not ready, who was promoted to the majors and pitched in 2 games well beyond anyone expectations. And he has a bad 3rd game and you dump on him like that.... How does Jake get the longest leash in the world; and some underdog rookie, who had filled admirably/astoundingly for 2 games, get the quick hook from you? You should be showing appreciation for what he did...A simple thank you...If he gets demoted, you should be like hope things work out for you, will be rooting for you again, if you get another chance...Stop playing the asshole card.

FYI - didn't see everyone's already response to Corch...so I am glad that I am not the only one felt it was undeserving to blast Urquidy that way....Someone asked before after the first game, did we feel Urquidy solidify the 5th spot in the rotation. I answered no. and even after the second game, I still thought he was pitching above his ability...With the state of the back of the end of the rotation of what it was, I think everyone here should be proud and support, Urquidy pitching great 2 out of the 3 games he pitched...yes, he stunk yesterday, but don't forget the other two....His ceiling may just be a reliever.

Urquidy did fine overall for a stop-gap. He has a shot at being a usable piece in the future. Everybody has bad days.
