I feel like there were a lot of flyouts and linedrives that we just barely missed today.
Good start, Osuna.

Don't like Osuna here with a 4 run lead. Why let them see our 3 best relievers (knowing they got to one). I'd prefer to go to Rondon here.

Pressly's velocity isn't back yet. Will got a big out to end the 8it hand Osuna was lights out in the 9th. That RBI hit for Hordan should settle him down and get rid of some nervousness. Correa. A masterpiece from Verlander and don't be surprised if Cole matches it.

I'm leaving work early too. Going to pick up some Indian food (suck it, unionstation82) on the way. Jealous.

What can I say? The game was excellent - a better start than last year’s first game.

Warm up James. Save Pressly. I was calling for Harris after Verlander and hoping AJ would pick up the vibes being transmitted from my couch to their dugout. He eventually got there, but I'd have preferred a shutout. I'm greedy that way.

Let's hope Carla doesn't break a nail or go on her period before game time. Seriously, give it a rest... Whether you like him or not, Correa is one of the top SSs in the game. He is not some scrub or one trick player. When he actually does play, he is a difference maker. So it's playoff time, if Carlos plays, it's better for the team.. Do you want to see Correa do well, so it helps the team?... Or do not want him to play, so you can call him Carla and put him down? Or even worse, do you want him to actually play, but not do well, so it hurts the team, but you can continue to put him down? Bravo! His incessant carrying on would wear the hair off a buffalo's butt.

This was truly a team win. Everyone did just enough to win by four runs or two earned runs, but no one did it alone.
ps There are unearned runs which are only there because you earned base-runners who can capitalize on the error.
pss Last night was a display of the third element of the game . We excel in Offense, pitching and DEFENSE.

A few observations since I "sports barred" the game yesterday, and was unable to comment. * Raving Rookie- Haven't parsed this entire thread for other comments , but one thing had to be said and it kind of struck me early was how bad Alvarez looked in first his few at bats. I was getting Biggio/Bagwell post season flashbacks. Happy he responded later though. Going into an early post season slump can have impact of player psyche. * Speaking of post season clutch.- Where Biggio and Bagwell failed us, the tandem of Bregman, Springer, and Dumbass have always done their job and more. * Artistry by JV- He had incredible command of his stuff yesterday. He out-Kuecheled even the bearded one when he was at his best. The best barometer of when the stuff is nasty, is when you see more than one batter grin after being rang up. Most of that shit was that unhittable. * Puzzling Pressly- Previous 4 outtings after return from IL were pretty sharp. Wonder what happened? Did anyone watch Hinch's press conference for a reason?

At the very least, have the kid pinch hit for him. Good observation. TV likes to spotlight players who can't control their anger. And the Red Stick got his own 20 second tirade beamed coast to coast. I hope AJ noticed, and gives Josh a little pine time.

If 0-3 with a walk and two Ks is doing his part, that kind of makes the case for me. And it would be one thing if it was just a bad day, but this is now multiple postseasons with very very poor showings.

Reddick's career postseason line: 215/.279/.291 .570 OPS
And it's even worse as an Astro. That's just not going to cut it when we have another option.
