I know we said this about Springer before but Brantley needs to be dropped down the order. I'd be more than ok with that.

Why oh why did they wait until the 9th inning for this. Even Brantley almost got a hold of one this inning.

That was pathetic by Correa. It's like he doesn't even care Noticed he didn’t bust ass down the line. Why should he? He laid out half the season again this year.... including most of September... while the rest of the guys worked their butts off, but come playoff time he is in the lineup. I’ve seen enough of his routine.

Welp, Yuli hit it in the right place. It was just in to the shift.

Welp, Yuli hit it in the right place. It was just in to the shift. Wouldn't have mattered. Correa would have struck out on 3 pitches over the middle of the plate anyhow

If they win Thursday none of this matters. If they don't, then they didn't deserve it.

Alright Cole. We need you big time on Thursday.
More importantly the offense needs to score at least 5 runs.

If we lose this series it will be due to lack of offense......not our pitching. This highly-rated lineup has not produced. When we had a chance to get back in the game, Pettis made a terrible mistake in sending Jose home. Brantley's line drive had double written all over it and turned into a DP. Nothing went right.......As bad of a decision as it was to start Verlander, it would not have mattered if our offense had produced. If we lose the series. it will be due to lack of run production.

That was pathetic by Correa. It's like he doesn't even care Noticed he didn’t bust ass down the line. This team looks like the team that got owned by Boston in the playoffs last year. A run!!! I saw him dragging his ass......no excuse for that crap. We will probably hear that he is sore and having "issues".

Just not our night. Baseball Gods are against us. That was the case last postseason. This year, it’s more because of sorry baseball.

JV and Greinke losing their games back to back is a clever way of saying: We need Cole long term.

JV and Greinke losing their games back to back is a clever way of saying: We need Cole long term. I pin tonight's loss on two things......our pitiful hitting and Hinch's decision to start Verlander. Verlander kept us in the game.....the offense did nothing.

I know everybody is frustrated, but if you go back and look at some of what happened, we were right in this.
The Rays scored two runs due to seeing eye singles in the first inning. The only two runs they actually hit well were the two HRs. Even if you say they probably would have scored one of the other runs in the 1st inning, the d'Arnaud single was just poor luck. That would have made it 3-0.
Chirinos hit the HR. 3-1.
The lineout double plays by Reddick and Brantley were both with no outs. Both of them would have likely ended up with runners on the corners or even 2nd and 3rd with no outs. We could have just easily managed a run in each of those innings, if not more. 3-3.
Altuve getting thrown out at the plate. It took perfect throws and a perfect relay to get him. If either of the throws are delayed or off-line at all, we get it. 4-3.
In a different world, we could have just as easily won that game. It just didn't work out. Looking for people to blame is pointless.
edit: If they keep hitting the ball hard, things will turn around. Springer finally started looking right, and Brantley barely missed a HR and a double down the line. I know Yordan had the bad strikeout, but him, Altuve, and Bregman are having a good series. This could be a blessing in disguise. If they can overcome this and take Game 5, that will give them a don of momentum and confidence going into the ALCS.
This was likely going to be our hardest series. It's against the best pitching in baseball in a short series.

I'm fairly confident we could beat the Rays in a 7-game series. Less sure about a 5-game series
It would've been better to let the Yankees deal with these guys in the 1st round

Alright Cole. We need you big time on Thursday. More importantly the offense needs to score at least 5 runs. The team needs to score early and often in game 5. I fully expect CFM to be used in a fireman/closer type role in game 5. He can pitch an inning or two on Thursday and it will be just like throwing between starts for him. He can come back on Saturday and start game 1 of the ALCS for the Rays. If we are trailing in the 8th inning and Charlie is brought in to finish up, I’m afraid we will know how the Dodgers felt in game 7 of the 2017 WS.
