11-11 Team OPS+: 112 Team ERA+: 103
Hopefully the offense can provide some more early support for Javier so he can settle in. He looks excellent so far but we need more than 4-5 IP.
Side note: Does anybody else think it might be worth trying to get Javier locked in longer term? I know it's early, but if you look at his track record he has dominated at every level.

Lance may have been overpaid, but he's a fluke groundball hitting 1B from being 2-1 with a 3.72 ERA in his first 4 starts. That falls right a long with his career numbers.
If he does that while throwing 150+ innings, I'll be satisfied.

I think he'd be better suited as a reliever, but there's nothing shabby about a 26 year old with a career ERA of 3.70 over his first 500 IP. He's had health issues and he's not going to pitch deep into games often, but he's an above-average pitcher for sure.

And that is exactly what Twitchy is. He's an impediment to his own success because he has a 5 cent head.

I don't think the $85 million is completely justified, but it's certainly not amongst our worst decisions.

And I'd rather the Astros spend $32.5M a year for 4 years, than 8 years/$210M

I just don't think Correa will accept a four year deal. Sounds like it will take six or more to sign him. If he continues at his current pace and stays healthy, he may get what he wants. I wish I knew how high we would go to keep him. I think the only other top FA shortstop we may have a shot at is Story, who should want out of Colorado.

At this point, I doubt Correa accepts anything less than 6 years $180 million.

Altuve, Brantley, Bregman, and Maldonado (surprisingly) historically have hammered this pitcher tonight.

No change in the lineup today. Poor Castro... Seattle is starting another lefty so I guess Dusty thinks Maldonado might have a better chance of hitting him than Castro. Hell, Maldonado couldn't hit an average high school pitcher. Another reason is Maldonado can probably communicate with Javier better than Castro.

As per usual Javier looks good but throws a lot of pitches. Here’s to hoping he makes it through 6.

That is twice Altuve has squared up the ball.
