The fact that your opinion is of little importance to me is true. Bortaz: 1. I hate Jork because i asked for an autograph and he laughed in my face. This was after he rebuked my advances. 2. I am not a guy who went to school to learn how to empty bedpans properly. 3. I don't blame pitcher's for everything no matter how bad the defense is behind him. 4. I don't have a poster of Keuchel and Yelich showing their asses on by bedroom ceiling. All untrue.

Hey dogecoin was great to make a few bucks if you weren't stupid about it. Yeah, but what about your Jork memorabilia? I repeat..........Jork is better than Straw and it's not even a close race. I have never been one to be interested in autographs, but, I do regret not keeping all of the TOPPS baseball cards I collected as a kid. I could have made a mint.

He started out being used as a filler until Leon is ready, but, I don't think we can afford for him to even fill that role much longer. He is a disaster and needs to be cut. I'd try somebody else.....Dawson, McCormick, or ?? They shit the bed when they failed to sign a decent outfielder in the off season. Jake would be doing better for us than Straw. It won't last, but, right now Jork has twice the home runs Altuve has and more runs batted in. LOL

But, to try to replace George with Straw was poor planning. We needed someone who could play CF and we passed on JBJ. I wouldn't have objected to getting Benintendi and putting Tucker in CF.

Ironically, you were not clamoring for the Astros to sign Marisnick....You had your sights squarely on JBJ....And giving Click grief for not getting him... So as far as CF is concerned: Click > Corch.

Click reminds me of a guy shopping at Goodwill and wanting Neiman Marcus quality.

However, now that Jake is doing better, you’d rather have him be signed instead? You realize that ‘Back to the Future’ was a fictional movie, right?

They need to stick with Straw and Tucker. They had very rough starts but have looked better recently. Straw's OBP over the last two weeks has been .340, and Tucker has shown enough in the past to warrant sticking with him despite his struggles.
My biggest complaint about Straw has been his defense. I expected better. Hopefully he'll get there. None of the available CFers from the offseason are doing much better than Straw (if at all), and we've seen this episode with Jake before. He's not going to sustain it.
Our lineup should be plenty good enough to sustain Straw and Maldonado, especially if Tucker gets going and Altuve continues to improve. This team's true biggest weakness is the duo of Raley and Smith.

I definitely agree....I understand Smith is a veteran; therefore, his leash should be longer than others, but it needs to be cut....Raley until Paredes returns, should be in mop-up duty....and when Paredes returns, Raley should be Sugar Land bound. Braves just completed a low cost signing of Shane Greene...Only cost them a pro-rated 1.5M....Not bad at all; however, there may be a reason in why other teams did not sign him in the off-season, and why he could be had for so low now. I am hoping Straw can finish the season at this point with .250/.340/.360 slash line...Also steal some bases, score some runs and play elite defense (like he showed in the minors).

I had no interest in watching fictional trash like Back to the Future. At the time, I thought we needed JBJ. I didn't mention signing Jake because of all those here who don't have the baseball knowledge to know he was a great outfielder who was a weak hitter. You know."Jork is the worst player in baseball, blah blah blah". Here is a guy who saved our ass more than once with spectacular defensive plays and has a great arm to throw out runners trying to take an extra base. Straw is not close to Jake as a defender and is not any better at the plate. Jake has power. If Straw hits a ball 300 feet that is his max. I didn't think we needed Reddick because his hitting had become non-existent. He was still a good outfielder. Hindsight is always beneficial. If I had to make a decision today, I'd sign Jake, and, keep Straw in the minors or trade him. He may come around with the bat, but, he has a long way to go. I think he feels pressure and thinks people expect him to be George Springer, which he is not and never will be. The point is we have to find a replacement for Straw. Who that should be, I don't know. I just know we can't keep on with this guy.
