Cole vs. Severino
Severino probably can't go super deep in the game, but it doesn't really matter since Boone has jumped to the bullpen early all postseason.
Be aggressive, be cocky, and hope that Cole continues his dominant streak!

I feel encouraged about the offense. We had 13 baserunners, and seven lineouts (plus two 400ft flyouts). If Altuve keeps getting on base and Correa and Springer start hitting, things will be good. Yuli had just awful luck last night too.

Julia Morales just tweeted Reddick will play in RF tomorrow. Kind of expected that. I don't think they wanted to start Tucker in Yankee Stadium and Reddickl has played there a lot.

If game #4 is rained out and we have the makeup game on Friday in NY? I'm assuming you start Greinke still on Thursday for now game #4 but would there be any temptation to start Verlander for Game #5? Of course if that happened you'd still have Urquidy start game #6 at home (as there's no way you want Cole on short rest then have game #7 open)
I almost would like Verlander for game #5 in this scenario as he may be available for a game #7 out of the pen.
Imagine having Cole starting and Verlander/Greinke out of the pen for that game?

Looking ahead. If Verlander goes game #5 on Friday then he would be rested for game #2 of the World Series (if we get there). We'd have the same pitching lineup of Greinke, Verlander, Cole again.
This is all assuming we win and it goes 7 games.

Do they not have a rest break scheduled into the schedule between the LCS and the WS?

I would go ahead and start Urquidy in game 4 and Greinke in game 5 assuming we have won game 3. I prefer Verlander and Cole for games 6 and 7 in Houston if needed.

I like that batting order you suggest with Alvarez, Maldanado and Reddick at 7-9.

If we win game 3, I would go with Urquidy to start game #4, regardless of whether it is played on Wednesday or Thursday.

Yep that is the way it should be.

Alvarez had his best streak while being protected by Yuli I think. Did Correa do enough to be protection for Bregman?
ps How quickly do you want a pitching change since Alvarez gets a new pitcher half the time?

I agree with you and if that guy was still here right now I'd have no problem. But when it's playoff time and the team needs something to get it going then the best thing sometimes is a small lineup shuffle. Alvy would be the one to move that could benefit the entire team batting chemistry.

While not hitting the bombs right now, he has reached base in 6 of the 7 games. That's better than most.

From Astros.com:
“Hinch said the Astros would have a “bullpen day” for Game 4 on Wednesday, assuming it doesn’t get rained out.”

If there's a rainout Wednesday, there won't be a day off between Games 5 and 6, assuming it goes that far
