Congrats to the Nationals. Happy for Max Scherzer. Soto is pretty annoying. Happy for Zimmerman and Rendon. You show a lot of class with that understatement. I tip my cap to you.
We had the pleasure of watching Max in a Tigers uniform for five years, including his first CYA year. He's a gamer.
I will second both the comment and the sentiment.

I find it annoying that with all the antics that Soto displayed, Bregman was the one forced to apologize for “being a little too much”.

The thing about proud people (like Soto and Bregman) is that they'll live long enough to learn about humility. Whether they listen to it's teachings is up to them. As for the Astros, obviously I'm disappointed that they didn't seal the deal. Baseball is the hardest game to predict and the easiest for the underdog to prevail. The ball Kendrick hit for a HR was a good pitch; he probably misses or fouls that ball off 19 times out of 20. Springer's ball falls for a hit more times than not. Alvarez's ball to CF is gone if he's a fraction earlier or later with his swing. You can drive yourself crazy considering the permutations (and when I was a younger man, I would have). Yesterday's gone and it ain't coming back. I'd much rather be in the situation we're in (contenders) than knowing Matt Dominguez is our 3b and Bud Norris is our top SP. It should be an interesting off-season.

I just don't see how you guys can laugh and cavort all over the place, all season, for Bregman...and then complain about Soto's behavior.

I for one have bitched about Bregman's showboating since day 1. OTOH...Soto takes "punk-ness" to a whole new level. Notice his little back kick at first trying to dislodge the ball from Gurriel last night? And the obvious snide trash talk at Chirino too? This son of a bitch will get his, in due time. I hope Smoltz and Buck sends him a warm and fuzzy man-love get well soon card.

I don’t care for his antics nor do I care for Bregman’s.,,, but I’m old school. Right now Soto is just a kid behaving like a kid and having fun. I hope he doesn’t become the next Carlos Gomez with all the trying to start fights and such. If he does, it will be easy to hate him. That nonsense is not good for the game.

Poor Tigers. Porcello, Price, Verlander & Scherzer all moved on to win the WS with other clubs

Kudos to Scherzer and Zimmerman. Rendon, the Houston boy, gets a ring.
We still got another pennant in the franchise. It's not all bad. Now we get to see some of our guys win a few awards. On to 2020!

I just don't see how you guys can laugh and cavort all over the place, all season, for Bregman...and then complain about Soto's behavior. People like having a player who “wears the black hat”. They like a little edge that says we don’t back down. I think that’s why people love Bregman even though I myself didn’t care too much for it. I just think it’s ridiculous and hypocritical for the media to fawn over Soto’s act and his “shuffle” but lambast Bregman over carrying a bat. Apparently, that’s as offensive as Soto grabbing his nutsack and scooting his feet around the box while staring at the pitcher. Go figure.

As I previously posted, I think the 'celebrations' are appropriate when they're in the dugout or a high-five to the next batter, after clearing the bases.
But Soto takes that to another level and even his antics in the batter's box are ridiculous. I've never seen Bregman behave that way in the batter's box. He come up there focused on the pitch, not trying to disrespect the pitcher.
Remember this:
And that's not an isolated incident. Soto is a thug. If he continues with that kind of behavior, he's gonna get plunked on a regular basis.

Soto should be drilled in the ribs with a fastball every time he taunts a pitcher like that. He would have done that once to Farnsworth. Next pitch he would have been drilled and if he didn’t like it and charged the mound, he would receive a ass whuppin too.

Bumgarner is part of a dying breed.

You can't expect every single player on every team to hold the same political views as you.

You can't expect every single player on every team to hold the same political views as you. Visiting the POTUS after a major spots championship should preclude any political leanings. Just good manners.

Again, I just think you should respect the office regardless of not liking the sitting president, and you should be a part of your team when your team takes trips.
