Glad they could win it all the year Harper leaves for free agency. National’s troll level is over 9000.
Max Scherzer is pretty cool too. Wish we had him on the rotation.

Yeah, the nails on our coffin are pretty much sealed. Congratuatlions, and just shows a inferior but hungrier opponent can slap you down silly.

The Nationals weren't that inferior. Take away their slow start the first month and a half and they've been an excellent team for a long time now.

When you look at all the position by position matchups, we owned probably 3/4 of them. That's very lopsized in a WS. Of course that doesn't mean shit for this crew of paper lions.

I said before the series started that this is a better matchup than most believed. I was wrong. The Astros with their emphasis on analytics/launch angles/shifts/exit velocities, etc, are no match for the Nationals and their solid fundamental baseball.

Eh, they have a better all-around OF, imo. 3B is a wash. Catcher is a wash. SS they're honestly probably better right now. We're substantially better than them at 1B and 2B. The rotations are a wash or slightly in the Nationals favor. Our key bullpen guys are better than their key bullpen guys, but with they're deeper rotation they can use them in the bullpen better than we can use ours. Most importantly, they never expected to get this far. They're playing with house money and having fun doing it. They have virtually no pressure or expectations. Less stress is leading to better execution. I know most of us are pretty frustrated at most of our guys (and they've certainly been mostly wildly inconsistent), but the bottom line is that the Nationals are just playing better right now. We had a chance to take the first game, but a little bit of bad luck and a lot of wasted opportunities killed that idea. And things yesterday just got out of hand when we started playing desperation ball. They need a team meeting and a little bit of self-analyzation on what they need to be doing. They're good enough to turn this around (or at least make it a good series) but they need to work on their approach immediately. They're being a little more aggressive on the basepaths and they've put some bunts down, but very little opposite field approach.

When in G1 they went "all in with #1, # 3 starter, and best 3 releivers I thought they had gone whacko. Ends up it was a genius move. Kudos to the nats

I totally agree with your assessment of the position players, the rotations and the bullpens. I also agree that the Astros need to work on their approach, but I just can’t see them doing a 180 with their approach at this point.

They weren't far off from taking Game 1, and they were a Bregman misplay when Pressly came in away from being right in Game 2. The Nationals are playing better, but not as better as it looks in the box score.

Nats have outplayed the "vaunted" Astros to this point, but they've had a sizeable chunk of luck, too. Houston is the better team but they're certainly not playing like it. It's entirely possible for the Astros to take 4 out of 5 from them, if the real Astros show up, but I'm finding it highly unlikely at this point.

I'll just say this: I hate losing. However, if we have to lose the World Series, I don't mind losing it to this Nationals team. It's going to suck to not win it all, but at least we didn't lose to wankers like the Dodgers or Cardinals. The Nats are a cool, young, talented team who have fun and don't act like cocksnorflers.

At least they're not doing the cock-grab routine like the Dallas Rangers.

Would be like if our generation started slinging millions of ping pong balls in honor of Captain Kangaroo.

It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings, but she's standing up and pulling the skirt out of her crack already, about to clear her throat.

Almost no one thought that Jeter and his boys had a chance after Game 2. It isn’t over now but that’ll change with another loss in Game 3.

I thought I was saying the Astros could come back. That last sentence seemed pessimistic I believe in them coming back, but it’s virtually a done deal if they lose the next game.

Yeah, the nails on our coffin are pretty much sealed. Congratuatlions, and just shows a inferior but hungrier opponent can slap you down silly. This is why I said game #1 was a must win. Verlander hasn't been himself and if the Nats got to Cole in game #1 then they could do it again in game #5
I wonder if Hinch would consider at all using Cole on short rest in game #4 to have him available for a game #7 if needed (if we win game #3 with Greinke of course)
Either way we need to win 2 out of 3 in DC to have a chance.

Congrats to the Nationals. Happy for Max Scherzer. Soto is pretty annoying. Happy for Zimmerman and Rendon. You show a lot of class with that understatement. I tip my cap to you.
We had the pleasure of watching Max in a Tigers uniform for five years, including his first CYA year. He's a gamer.
