I like this from the article at Astros.com: “Baker brings a level-headed and steady voice that will resonate with the players and with the media. And he also won’t put up with any nonsense.” I hope we have seen the last of Bregman’s staring at, and posing for, the TV cameras. I agree. The players should be allowed to have fun, but they can’t just be allowed to act like absolute fools.

I always thought Hinch showed favortism toward Bregman and let him get away that staring act and posing. At least, Bregman got that peroxide out of his hair either all on his own or at the urging of those who knew he looked like an idiot.

Intreasting trade scenario: Carlos Correa and prospects Nevaldo Rodriguez and Nick Tanielu to the Rays for Wonder Fanco and Joe Ryan?
This is a very very very Intreasting scenario considering the Rays are in a win now mode and always looking to improve there club.
Would be a very crazy trade but man Franco would be a dream addition and would be a call up the following year

New rumor. If the Padres miss out on Mookie Betts they could start calling teams about there spare Vet OFers. One name to Mention....... Josh Reddick. Itcan be assumed his value is down alittle but he still provides very good def and an above average bat. He may not slam the HRs, but he can atleast provide some spark every now and then. He is a streaky hitter, he ia either hot or ice cold. But can stay warm of periods of time. A good trade Idea would be Josh Reddick alittle cash For Gabriel Aries SS. He's been below-average offensively the last two years. And a pitcher's park like Petco, I don't see that improving.

I don't want anyone whose name is Wonder because we would keep wondering if he is worth a damn.

Professional sports "letting the kids play" has allowed players to disrespect the game, and, in the case of the NFL and NBA, has allowed a bunch of entitled punks and thugs to disrespect the flad and the country. We don't a Colin Kaepernick in baseball. Bregman's antis, crap like Juan Soto pulls, and the blue hair and rants of Yasiel Puig should not be allowed. I admit to being old school and I'm sick of watching punks disrespect the game and the country.

This is why I respect Bagwell. I heard that on the radio yesterday.....I like what Bagwell said......Bagwell aslo mentioned when his contract was up, he didn't know if the Astros were going to pony up. He thought if they didn't, he would either see if the Red Sox were interested, or the Giants, because he thought so highly of Dusty Baker....He thinks Dusty is the right person for the job....And he thinks all players will benefit from being here, but he thinks George Springer might the most....and that is saying a lot, because Springer and Hinch were close.

I don't completely disagree with you (although I'm not quite as old school in my views), but with MLB trying to attract younger viewers I don't see them making changes (or pushing old school managers to be old school).

I agee with everything he said. We will see if Baker is the right guy, but, it seems like he has a lot of support from the right people. I hope Springer sees that he needs to remain an Astro.

Hinch hung himself being a 'good old boy" who was more concerned with the players liking him than doing the right thing, All he had to do to prevent this crap we are dealing with was to put his foot down and tell Cora to stop it immediately. Instead, he chose to look the other way and we see what that got him, Luhnos and the rest of them. Cora was the instigator and Hinch was the enabler.. There needs to be rules of conduct that players have to follow and managers need to have he guts to enforce them.

Not with the league pushing to "let the kids play" and such. I disagree. Each organization can establish what is and is not acceptable behavior by the players on their team. For example, the Yankees and their “no beards” requirement. Come to think of it, I can’t recall any of the Yankees players behaving like a fool for the cameras every time they hit a home run. Maybe they do, but I don't recall it.

I wish the long hair was eliminated. But, I am old school so that makes me an idiot.
