The new GM is going to have his hands full trying to mend the fractured relationships with George and Carlos that Luhnoh created and left us with. We will also have a coaching staff who will be working under a manager who may or may not have plans to keep them past this season because he wants his own crew. I wouldn't bet that Baker is here past this season. If they sit on their ass and let Springer go without making a legitimate offer to keep him, they deserve whatever they get. Luhnow already pissed him off with the half-assed offer they made him. He is worth every penny as much as Altuve is making. |

Thats what Im saying. Bring him in let him learn under Yuli till the deadline trade Yuli. Hopefully he learn enough to be good at 1B. Yordan wants to play LF ala Carlos Lee. But DH for know. I keep thinking future bridgeing the gap for two years till we are clear of the picks being taken. Yuli could get us a couple of prospectsand clear money if you did wanna sign Springer long term. I wouldnt sign Springer long term I would look for a good young cheap guy to trade for. Senzel is a good look. But would cost us Correa. But if you plan for the next two years our future could be very bright and we wouldnt have to worry about the lose of the picks. Not wanting to sign Springer long-term is a good reason why people here think your ideas are ridiculous If the Astros are not in contention by this next trading deadline, they need to be in a massive sell mode...Verlander, Greinke, Springer, Gurriel, Brantley and Osuna should all be on the trade block if that's the case. Been saying this. Springer, Brantley, Yuli and Reddick. Plus Correa. Build this youth up. Get a couple SPs that are young and do alot of home work before you get them. A OFer aswell. No reason to hold onto them. |

This is a real time decision.
Correa to the Reds center around Nick Senzel. Theres ur OFer to replace Springer.
Yuli to the Jays, Rays or Marlins for Sp Prospects.
Brantley to the Padres for a SS prospect.
Reddick to the Braves for all the Air fair for the anove players.
Open the gates.
You have Verlander and Grienke for 1 more year wait till either the Offseason or the following trade Deadline not the 2020 deadline the 2021.
Play the odds on two sell offs.
I wouldnt care if the Astros lost 100 games. I would bemore concerned if they pooped the bed and let these guys walk with out getting something we actually need amd can conteibute wright away with.

You have to look at the over all picture. Can the Astros pay them? Why havent they putt all feet forward to get them all resigned? And why the hell dont they have those two years of picks? Rut row. Why stay here when you can max your money out? (Springer) Why stay here when this is your possible last contract? (BRANTLEY AND YULI) Think about there age for a sec Coach come on man your better then that. Astros hands are hog tied with the CAP. But if you can add some younger talent befoee they only give us comp pics. Well thats a more suitable option for me. And I would hope the Astros. |

If we had kept him, we would not have needed to trade for Greinke and give up 4 prospects for him and his salary, I still say that was one of the worst things Luhnow did along with trading Hader for Fiers and Gomez. I disagree... Morton had a long history of injury issues... He maybe should have been tendered, but that's about it.. Luhnow has shown in the past, he's very leery of giving top dollar to pitchers with the high likelihood of injury. But yes, the Gomez trade was a f'up... Most people on the old board were very against it |
