Was there any discussion about beating shifts and relying less on homers?

Bregman should have kept his mouth shut. Bis comments were not needed since Verlander and Altuve led the meeting and "said what needed to be said" according to Reddick. Bregman can be referred to as the team choke artest at this point. He needs to shut up, cut the strutting act, and do his damn job.
Unless their approach at the plate changes, the meeting was a waste of time.

Long story but I missed the rest of the game after Suzuki HR. I saw Altuve got a 3rd hit later on, what kind was it?

According to Hinch it wasn't as dramatic a meeting as the media is making it out to be.

I take what Hinch says about things of this nature with a grain of salt. He never gave straight answers about player injuries so why should he be open about this?

Hinch only knows what he heard......Since it was players only, I doubt if he really knows what went on in there and he shouldn't.

He said he talked to some guys afterwards. Then, how would he know anything about it? What do you mean? He told the media it wasn't some closed door meeting with all the players. It was just a group of some of the key guys having a conversation. Hinch talked to some of the players afterwards.

Well, Sherwin, if the Astros are going to succeed, they're going to need to put some pressure on that dynamite Nationals rotation. That means working the count and executing with runners on base. Which is something they've failed to do mightily so far. On top of that, they're going to need Zach Greinke to channel some of his CY-caliber vintage performances. He'll need to avoid that super dangerous tandem of Rendon and Soto. Don't be surprised to see him really work the corners on those guys. And lastly, they'll need Will Smith to continue his excellent postseason out of that bullpen to hold down those pesky Nats hitters late in the game. At the end of the game, the team that scores the most runs is going to come out on top. I'd hate to be the team facing either of these good pitchers!

First off, I know these players and Alex Bregman. Earlier this afternoon over a cup of Earl Grey, he told me that his team may be pressing and feeling the aftereffects of two grueling albeit rewarding series against two excellent teams. Let’s not cast aside the Tampa Bay (Devil) Rays as some mere wild card contender who didn’t deserve their shot at a title. The Astros signaled each other of tipped pitches and knew what was coming. Tampa could not prepare themselves for the eventual onslaught. The Yankees were defeated using a series of tribal whistling picked up by Myles Straw in a church mission to Turkey as a young lad. They overcame the incredible defense of Aaron Judge with his standing there in one spot and extending his arm to catch line drives while also stopping balls hit to the gap that should’ve gone straight from ground to glove. The bottom line is that the Astros stand no chance against Rendon, Soto, and the rest of the Washington Expos if they lose Game 3 (with the exception of four consecutive wins by said Astros so what I meant to say is the odds to win a championship are low for Houston if they lose the game). Stay tuned for the national anthem performed by Robert Kelly. Back to you in the studio.

Sibce none of us were in the PLAYERS ONLY meeting.........including you and Hinch........nobody knows what was said in the meeting. If Hinch did talk to players, he has no way of knowing if they told him exactly what happened in the meeting.

Probably discussing what to get Hinch for Christmas. They have to change it up since their playoff shares will be less.

Unnamed sources confirm that the players-only meeting was called so that each player could confirm that he received his own ass from the 25 asses the Nationals handed to the team during game #2.

Not quite as young as Torres with the Yankees but what a couple of phenoms.

Astros are right now in a Rocky III situation, the Nats are hungry and want to be the champs...the Astros need to get back that "Eye of the Tiger" that they had in 2017.
