The Astros have lost the first game of a playoff series 3 times since 2017:
Dodgers 2017 WS- Won in 7 games Yankees 2019 ALCS- Won in 6 games Nationals 2019 WS- ?
Going by stats only, the Astros could have lost the first 2 games at home against the Yankees last series and still brought it to a game #7 (if everything else played out as it did exactly)
The Astros won game #1 of the ALCS against the Red Sox and them lost 4 straight so it can be done
Beating Cole twice in a 7-game series will be extremely tough making a game #6 almost inevitable
I would not want to face this Astros team on the brink of elimination against Cole, Verlander or Greinke (who did a good job in game #3)
Lastly, of all the Astros players this post season my MVP award so far would go to 2 players: Altuve and Harris

Altuve and Harris are definitely co-MBV's at this point. We will need another strong performance from our pen tonight.

Beating Cole twice in a 7-game series will be extremely tough making a game #6 almost inevitable Flipping a coin twice, the chance of having it come up tails both times is only 25%. But that's before the coin has been flipped the first time. After it comes up tails, the chance of it coming up tails a second time is ... 50%. Oh, and while beating Cole is a pretty tough thing to do, beating Scherzer is no picnic. The Astros hitters will need be on their game, big time.

I’m positive the Astros will need to hit with RISP in order to win this series. I’m also positive that if we go 7 games, we will positively have to beat Scherzer and Strasbourg and Sanchez.

Hot damn. I am positive Bregman has got his mojo back! And he had a great post-game interview without sounding like a turd.

I really think the offense has woken up, and our chances pretty good. After G2, I was about ready to throw in the towel.

Hot damn. I am positive Bregman has got his mojo back! And he had a great post-game interview without sounding like a turd. I was going to ask if anyone thought Bregman seemed un-Bregman like tonight. After his grand slam, he didn't do his "look into the camera 4 finger routine". Instead he kinda shamefully turned to the camera, then turned back and put up his 4, like he wasn't supposed to do it. Then the interview. I wonder if this was something addressed in the players only meeting?

I think Bregman is his own biggest critic and biggest fan. I think he lets himself be cocky when he is consistent. He hasn’t been since the ALCS, so he’s not giving himself the room to act cocky.
With that being said, I want him cocky. He isn’t arrogant. We need his swagger as much as he needs his swagger. Altuve, Bregman and Springer are all different, but we need all of those personalities. I truly believe it’s what make us successful. The Brantley’s of the world help us to remain a bit grounded. Game 1 & 2 he was uncharacteristically emotional and then calmed for 3 & 4.
