It's over. Time to focus on 2020. It was over more than two and a half days ago. But people will talk about it until they're done talking about it. Not a minute sooner.

Don't shut the door...what should have happened... Astros had the lead to start the 7th and Cole could close out the game. Greinke does not pitch in the 7th inning, he is replaced by Cole, who is already warmed up. And basically, you are switching pitching styles, so the opposing batters see a totally different pitcher. Cole gets his ring and may stay in Houston, but at the very least, we get our second WS win in 3 years....EOS.

If that is the case, then the Astros really need to trade Correa, in hopes of getting a top OF prospect. Alvarez needs to play 1b, he is a liability in the OF. Straw may be just a 4th OF, but you immediately force him into a starting role if Springer is no longer on the team...Of course, Straw could still end up being the starter because they Astros don't have anyone else... FTR- I am a big Straw fan, but I like him as a super utility guy. His majority of his future subbing could very will be in CF, but I also still expect to see him at SS and 2b, to give Altuve and Bregman rest.

I would have been disinclined to end Greinke's day after 6, given how well he had pitched up to that point. And I'm not sure we can know Cole would have been the answer, but what did happen didn't turn out well at all.
For sure, the missed scoring opportunities were a tragedy.

They need to discover different ways to score. The Nats are like the A’s in that their pesky style of play gave our pitchers fits. Hopefully, our hitters can adopt that style of offense. It’s very unsettling to see them settle for home runs or nothing.

We were weaker when he was injured than we were when Altuve was hurt and Correa was on vacation.
