Well, this is it. It all comes down to this. Will they remember to hit with RISP? Will Bregman and Altuve have their heads in the game? Will Correa stop guessing at the plate and actually look at the break of the pitches? Can we try some smallball? These many questions will be answered in the final game of the year.

As I said in last night's op-ed, if Scherzer is the starter, it is imperative that a few bunts are dropped in the direction of the 3rd base / mound area. Let's test that back/ neck muscle quickly.
And as you said, if we just for once try working on solid contact, rather than killing the ball....... (1) Small ball games have been winning at a greater percentage anyway, and (2) Gotta realize a 320 ft. slinger dinger in the Crawford boxes counts the same as a blast hitting the train.
Strom / AJ needs to have absolutley every hurler warm up early, and make this Game 7 a job interview for each pitcher. Analyze all the pitchers stuff, and go with the ultimate hot hands.
As I said when we went "all in" with the Greinke signing...... Anything short of a WS victory will be considered a failure for this talented team. This game needs laser focus, no showboating, no margin of error.

Grienke for 4, Urquidy for 2, match up bag for 1, and Cole for the final 2. Sounds like a winner to me. If the offense can score more than 2 runs that is.

Craig Biggio once said "we are the Houston Astros, nothing ever comes easy". No truer words have ever been spoken.

Or best hope is for Scherzer's lidocaine to wear off and his shoulder impingement or whatever it is flairs up.

The Astros need to jump out to a big lead early to take back the momentum. That may be a tall order.

This is a really evenly matched series. They've scored 27 runs and we've scored 28

This game needs laser focus, no showboating, no margin of error. Greinke should be on a short leash with Urquidy being ready in the first inning if needed. In fact, I am not sure Urquidy shouldn't start. I agree that we need to bunt and play small ball, but, I don't expect it. For some reason, this team never changes it's approach no matter what. Altuve will go the plate and swing at the first pitch no matter where it is and the pitchers know that.He won't see first pitch strike unless it's a breaking pitch, Correa will keep starting there looking like an idiot taking strikes and then striking out on pitches out of the zone. The entire team refuses to try to hit to the opposite field and had rather pull the ball and it easy ground ball uuts. We won't attempt steals or execute A hit and run. I will worry if we score two in the first because that usually means we are through for the game. If Bregman or Soto pull the stunts they did last night with the bat, the pitcher needs to drill them the next time they come to the plate. In fact, Hinch should have ordered Bregman not to talk to the media before the game. They single him out because they know he will say something to inspire the Nats. He needs to shut the hell up. Verlander was stubborn last night and continued to try to blow a fastball by the hitters, and, it got him and the team burned. Altuve, Gurriel, Brantley, and Karla all looked like shit at the plate last night.

To me this WS will be remembered as much for the parade of pathetic home plate umpires with their crazy ball/strike calls as it will for anything the players did on the field. That is just really sad.

I wish I knew Tucker would be in the lineup for Reddick but he won't. I wish we had a replacement for Karla but we don't.
Don't be shocked if Cole enters the game in relief.
Biggio and Bagwell to throw out the first pitch.
