You haven't withheld judgment...you've flat out denied that it's happened and essentially stated that you won't believe anyone who says it has. It's pure, unadulterated homerism. I am the king of homerism, but.....We bent and or broke the rules.

Check my posting history, I have never stated anything to that effect. I even went as far as saying something to the effect "where there is smoke there's fire". However, my contention is that with so much rumourmongering, it is impossible to believe or not beleive most of what has been alleged. The acutal dirty deeds may have been as relatively minor as what other teams have been caught of. BoSox as an example So far, we have only heard from the traded, the butthurted, and cretin fans and sportswriters from competitors who have started a dumpster fire of hearsay, innuendo, and rumourmongering. How about we hear from our side, before thowing the team under the bus. And answer me..... With all the risk that could happen (may happen), why would someone of Luhnow's talent and intellect buy in to something as stupid as organized cheating on the scale some of these simpletons suggest. There may have been some rule bending, but. I will be wiling to bet that half this shit storm is being generated by envious parties from other teams, who would sell their mothers to keep the Astros from becoming a dynasty.

The history of MLB is filled with stuff that ranges from morally questionable to downright illegal. I have to chuckle when I read comments, usually from fans whose teams the Astros have strummed over the past few years (looking at you, Yankees) who want the team tarred and feathered when the facts of the case aren't yet known. They are too ignorant to understand that the "integrity of the game" has been and always will be a myth. The game's original owners formed the league in the first place so that they could launder money. Any time you have a business worth billions you can be guaranteed that shady stuff is going on.
MLB isn't going to do much to the Astros because it's not in their best interest. Manfred has a potential PR nightmare on his hands and if he probes too deeply, he's going to uncover dirty crap on a lot of teams (hence his desperation to confine the investigation to the Astros) which he doesn't want. If that crap comes to light, he'll be forced to react. Therefore, he'll go about this "investigation" slowly, carefully and quietly (to allow the furor to die down), drag it out until spring training and ultimately they'll fine and take draft picks (or similar) from the Astros. Then he'll claim justice has been served, etc.
Also consider this: Crane and Luhnow are far from stupid. I'm certain they have gathered information about illegal crap other teams have done and told Manfred that if the punishment is too severe, some "anonymous source" will leak the dirt on the other MLB teams to the press. Dirty business is dirty. Blackmail works. In the end, the Yankees fans will be appalled, claim the high moral ground, and still lose the ALCS to the Astros.
I'm pretty sure the 'Stros did some competitive advantage crap (both of the traditional and illegal variety), so those claiming that this is much ado about nothing are being naive IMO. But vacating the title? Never going to happen. Banning players? Nope. Some sort of retribution against Hinch/Luhnow/Crane? Possible, but even if it happens I don't think it'll be major. Then we can get back to the business of playing baseball.

Pretty much has been mirroring my sentiments all along TH. Day 1, I asserted that if they wanted to go scorched earth, they better damn well do an anal probe on all f'n 30 teams. The east coast hypocricy is staggering. Want to talk about hi tech cheating? What the Bosox did with their Apple watches sure eclipses banging trash cans.
Where was the universal outrage then?
