Stassi is a better catcher than Gattis............Giles is an embarrassment to the team. Not only did he choke.....as is becoming all too common......punching himself in the face made him look like a maniac. He cannot be trusted under pressure. He proved that in last year's playoffs.

I think they cancelled Keuchel's corner since Keuchel doesn't want to be a free agent here. I'm thinkin' there must've been a misunderstanding with Dallas one time he couldn't pitch cause he was hurt, and he thought management insinuated he wasn't hurt. Else it wouldn't be so ultimate that he's not coming back. But who knows why this all seems so said and done now

But who knows why this all seems so said and done now I am one who still thinks Keuchel didn't need to spend as much time on the DL as he did last year. "Neck stiffness" and "discomfort" got old.......10-day trips to the DL were used by several teams to rest pitchers or to sti pitchers who were ineffective. He spent so much time on the DL last year that he lost the ability to locate his pitches. If he can't locate, he gets hammered. Since we have McHugh and Peacock who step into the rotation and Whitley getting ready, offer Keuchel a reasonable contract extension now. If he doesn't take it, trade him to an NL team for a bat. Right now, he is the weak link in the rotation. Also, I don't think management took too kindly to his remarks at the trade deadline last year when Luhnow wasn't as active as Dallas thought he should have been. Later, he was part of the reason Verlander agreed to come to Houston in a trade. Keuchel's main contribution last year was helping get Verlander to come here. If he is ineffective against the Yankees tonight, he needs to come out of the rotation and I hope they trade him. |

Nothing I would like more than seeing him be the pitcher he was when he won the Cy Young. I think his problems begin when he doesn't get called strikes he thinks he should get and then changes his approach. That is when he gets hit hard......He had to adjust to an umpire's strike zone without putting pitches in the middle of the plate. |

Did I miss something about why people are down on Keuchel? He has had one very bad game this season, otherwise he'd be around a 3ish ERA. He's done some great work for us in the regular seasons and postseasons, and has brought a lot of hardware to the city too.
Can't blame a guy for wanting to test free agency or not wanting to talk extensions during a season. Both of those are pretty common.
That being said, I doubt he'll be worth the money to bring back next year.

I pointed out the other day...Dallas lost all his fans on the forum when the rumors started flying about him getting some monster contract. That combined with the fact that he’s not as good as Verlander doomed him.

No that just tells us he wants to focus on baseball during baseball season, and that he interested to see what he is worth on the open market. This will likely be his best and possibly only time to get that big major payday. |

He's had some bad luck with weak ground all hits this season. He should easily be a winning pitcher this year with a little more support too. |
