Probably many won't agree, but it sounds like to me (if the accounts are true) that we heavily cheated during the regular season. We probably would have won anyways because we were very good, but we still cheated. I don't want to root for cheaters, and the only way to right a wrong is to feel the punishment.
It doesn't matter if others cheated too. Punish them severely as well. Let's clean this shit up right now.

If you cheat, you cheat. If you win by cheating, what’s done is done. The history cannot or should not be changed.
However, if you’re the Astros and were busted for the most part, it’s time to man up and accept the punishment. If other people cheat, that’s on them, and they should also be punished by MLB.
Finally, enough with the jabs on Bonds, Clemens, Pettitte, etc. for cheating when our own team does it too.

1. They ain't gonna take the WS trophy away.
2. There IS a coastal media bias because a) that's where the population majority is and b) that's where the media majority is. Until recently the Astros haven't given anyone reason to pay much attention to them, but they have now. It's great to be hated and feared by Yankees and Dodger fans.
3. The Astros cheated, but none of us yet knows the extent of it. If they cheated, they deserve to be punished.

One positive, is the chances of them taking the BoSox '18 flag is near zero. Gammons et. al. would have a stroke otherwise. With that fact, I think our '17 championship is safe. I'm at the point that we just have to make sure Luhnow isn't banned. Otherwise, I can live with it, and we all can move on with draft pick losses, and fines. |
