With the rodeo closed down, the NBA suspending their season, March Madness to be played without fans, and the NHL talking about doing something, does anyone think MLB will alter the season or opening day plans?
You can’t even buy toilet paper anymore so this is getting serious.

I think there is a good chance MLB will postpone the start of the regular season. Maybe play day/night doubleheaders later on to try and recover some revenue.

Verlander is for MLB postponing the start of the regular season. I would be for pushing back the start of the regular season. It would give JV some time to heal. Maybe he wouldn’t have to miss any of the regular season. If the start of the regular season is postponed, I’m guessing the teams will stay in Florida for an extended ST (possibly playing games with no fans or a limited number of fabs in the ballpark) in order to remain game-ready until the regular season starts. Maybe some of the guys who have been sent to minor league ST camp would be brought back to ML camp for this extended ST. Could be a good thing for some of the milb guys. I’m also wondering how this will impact the minor league season.

Examine the situation every Friday on a weekly basis. Depending on how long they feel it necessary to push it back, they can either extend the season or just play a shortened season this year. As long as it is fair for all teams, it shouldn't matter. Extend ST somewhat (with maybe some extra off days) with limited fan/media presence.
The idea of moving games and postponing others and then increasing doubleheaders causes more problems than it is worth, imo.
Besides, there are a number of big name players and big market teams that would benefit from a delayed start.

Maybe the rest of mlb will not be so hard on us now when we start. We will still get some crap, but maybe not as much since everyone will be glad baseball is back.

As pastrofan mentioned with NY will not be opening until late June or July as the Gov. just said today they are working with the three other states to coordinate but problem is they also said that the schools will not reopen until the next school year as they have canceled all end of the Year Finals and Regents testing here in NY. That means thousand of parents will have no one to watch the children. IT will become a logistic nightmare at this point. They are starting on Line School and will average those results with your passing the other three quarters and just issue a Diploma or pass to next grade.
How many games can be played if they Start in mid to late June at the earliest. The article I read on the Astros would be one of only teams to withstand the loss of revenue from the gates. This is because of the Profit the Astros made last year.

Even if Cuomo opens up the City for business in the future months, quite of few out of town people are going to be sceptical of attending any games. With NY being the epicenter, that tag is going to last a long time.

I received a certified letter from Cuomo to be a pallbearer, but was denied when he found out I was register Republican.

Democrats want to keep people off work as long as possible in an attempt to hurt Trump. This little stunt will fail like the rest of them. All these morons are doing is pissing people off.
