@$2000/mo is more than a lot of people make. If you provide them with more from the government, for sitting home, than they make by working, they're not going to want to go back to work. This is the most frequent failure in socialist philosophy, but democrats seem to lack the ability to understand it.

This is the most frequent failure in socialist philosophy, but democrats seem to lack the ability to understand it. You can still work and get your government handout. As long as you make less than $130k per year (or $230k per year for a married couple filing jointly) you qualify. So this money isn't instead of working. It's in addition to whatever you make by working. And the $2k per month ($24k per year) is for a single adult. A married couple would get $4k per month ($48k per year). Married couple with 3 kids ... $5.5k per month ($66k per year). timryan.house.gov/media/press-releases/representatives-tim-ryan-and-ro-khanna-introduce-legislation-send-americans

I don’t mind $2,000 as long as we’re in shutdown. The second it stops, so should the checks.

Anything related to TNG is inherently garbage. By and large all the actors began with no talent or experience whatsoever (except for Brent Spiner and Patrick Stewart) and Patrick chewed the scenery in ways William Shatner could only imagine. The Wrath of Khan was absolutely excellent. Some of the other ST movies with the original cast were worth watching. The reboot of Star Trek was pretty damned good too. I haven't watched Picard, so I can't say with absolute certainty it's a dookie. Oh, and Star Wars > Star Trek

Star Wars > Star Trek But, TNG and DS9 were the best two series for Star Trek, imo. For me, the best will always be the original. Yeah, it's campy and the special effects were primitive. But they did so much with so little. I also somewhat liked DS9 because it was a departure from the established script of of exploring different worlds. It was basically a drama in a fishbowl. But TNG? Really? Get a copy of the pilot (Encounter at Farpoint) and watch that again. From start to finish, the acting wasn't even up to amateur standards. It was beyond bad. I laughed at Marina Sirtis' whining to the press about how they played up her sex appeal. She really had little else to add to the party.

By the time I watched any of the original it was just too old timey feeling for me. I did like some of the movies with that original group, but the TV series just wasn't great to me. I probably prefer TNG because I grew up with it. Marina Sirtis was hot.

I probably prefer TNG because I grew up with it. Probably. Millennials probably think bat-flipping is an inherent part of baseball and would be stunned to see the elegance, restraint, and sportsmanship exhibited in the '50s and ''60s. One's first exposure to something defines what's normal for them. Wood Would, but only if she refrained from speaking. Jeri Ryan > Marina Sirtis Zoe Saldana > either of them.

Jadzia Dax (Terri Farrell) was the hottest Trek babe, followed by Chase Masterson as Leeta. And Hoshi (Linda Park) on Enterprise was smokin' hot. Much hotter than T'pol (Jolene Blalock)

Jadzia Dax (Terri Farrell) was the hottest Trek babe I think that could be somewhat debatable but Terry was definitely hot. And she wouldn't need to refrain from speaking either. You're on target with this one, Froggy. Almost makes up for your lust for Alexandria Ocasio-Clueless.
