We are having baseball withdrawal. If the season would have started on time we would not have been in this situation. Nah, it's more than that. The nefarious nutjobs whom we used to relegate to the back burner have come front-and-center and it seems more and more powerful politicians and powerful corporations are joining hands to make people who believe as I do outcasts. The NBA was ruined a long time ago. The NFL is actively being ruined. MLB won't be far behind. Sadly everything you said is true. I stopped watching NBA basketball years ago and tried to discourage the players I coached from watching it since it is nothing more than street ball that you can see on playgrounds. I stopped caring about the NFL when Kaepernick and others were allowed to kneel during the anthem in the name of free speech. Now, due to nothing being done to stop the madness that is currently taking place, we can expect the NFL to be worse once their season begins. We will see total disrespect for the flag and our country. Obama instigated the disrespect for law enforcement and the latest happenings have made it worse. Now, I expect MLB to begin doing some of the same garbage. When the useless Rob Manfred fails to steo up and stop it.......and he will fail to step up..baseball will be on the way to being ruined like the others. If it is allowed, many fans will stop giving a damn. This sign-stealing scandal will be nothing compared to the damage done if players start acting like Kaepernick and that crowd of losers.

The NBA was ruined a long time ago. The NFL is actively being ruined. MLB won't be far behind. My sons friend that has been with him got tested for covid. We do not have the results on that yet, but they did say he is positive for sars. Do you know anything about sars? Not a pulmonologist or infectious disease specialist, but I'm somewhat familiar with SARS. Covid and SARS are very similar, both viral pathogens that cause flu-like symptoms except that so far, SARS is worse. IIRC in the early 2000's there was an epidemic that had a mortality rate of >10%. Mankind has never found a "cure" for any viral pathogen (AIDS, SARS, Covid, Herpes, Influenza, etc.). Viral pathogens can cause tissue damage that allows for bacterial infection which can be treated with antibiotics, but a surprising number of people don't realize that antibiotics do nothing for viral infections. Even anti-viral drugs essentially don't "kill" the virus but they can slow their generation enough to keep the immune system from being overwhelmed. My advice would be to monitor your son closely and avoid contact with people for a time, especially those who are elderly. Even non-symptomatic people can be carriers. I've not seen my 90-year-old dad in over 3 months (which is hard for both of us). I know that his eventual exposure is inevitable (and FYI the same goes for everyone unless you live in a cabin in the wilderness) but I feel it's prudent to be careful.

I've been tested twice. Once up the nose and once down the throat. No homo but the one down the throat is way better...

I have not heard if any Astro player has tested positive so, hopefully, all of them are getting ready to finally get the season started. I also hope Click is busy trying to get Springer to sign a new contract.

Sorry to hear about your son. The bad news is that everyone in your home most likely will catch it unless you are disciplined about certain things. The good news is that if everyone wears a mask and constantly cleans things and your son is isolated into as small an area of the home as possible or even outdoors as much as possible (considering how sick he becomes), then the degree of illness most of your family will experience is reduced. Obviously your family doctor will have a ton of information on this but the Covid is not as dangerous as the media has portrayed it to be for younger folks. It is not something to be played with though any more than Russian roulette is. For older folks it is deadly in far to many cases. My kids grandmother died within a week of being diagnosed. She lived a good long life and was full of life until it hit and then boom, she is gone. A couple of the young folks in the house caught it and were over it in three weeks and all was well.
Some interesting stats on Covid that no one talks about.
Assisted living residents account for 1/10 of 1per cent of the population but account for 11 per cent of the cases and 41 per cent of the deaths. New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Illinois account for 36 per cent of the cases and for 58 per cent of the deaths. They stored their Covid patients in assisted living facilities even when there was field hospital space available. Approximately 13 people catch Covid for every 1 person tested positive. By January 2021 this will all be pretty much over either through vaccine or herd immunity.
I am looking forward to some baseball to have something puzzle over other than worrying about how much hand sanitizer or toilet paper is enough.

Is your son even experiencing any symptoms? No taste, bad sore throat and muscle pain. That's about it.
