It's probably more so the late start to the season, weird temporary rule changes, and general crappiness of the year causing people to be depressed and disinterested. |

It is a combination of things, and, I think the sign-stealing scandal is the least one. It is a combination......late start to the season, the asinine new rules, fans being replaced by cardboard cutouts which creates no excitement.,and players disrespecting the flag and the country by taking a knee during the anthem and wearing these BLM shirts promoting the agenda of a bunch of domestic terrorists . We had one of best posters, Olpapa, come out and state he was through due to the disrespect of players. When we have managers like that steroid junkie, Gabe Kapler, out in SF leading his players by taking a knee, a lot of people who love their country take offense. Until baseball and other pro sports clean up their acts, more and more people will stay away from games and stop buying team merchandise, We let the killing of a career criminal in Minneapolis kick start all of the bullshit we see all over the country. People see thugs rioting, looting and destroying property while mayors and governors sit and do nothing to stop it. The overall mood and attitude of the people is effected by this garbage. It's not just a lack of interest in baseball, it's people losing jobs and being scared to leave the house because of this virus and the organization mass violence being allowed to go unchallenged. Those who should be stopping this anarchy don't have the guts to act because tbey don't want to offend or further antagonize these anarchists. Extreme action is needed to stop the nonsense. At a time, when we need baseball as an escape from the crap we see around us, we turn on the TV and see players wearing these damn BLM shirts and disrespecting the flag and country. We have a commissioner who is ruining the game by putting in these ridiculous new rules. There was nothing wrong with the game........PLAY THE GAME THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED TO BE PLAYED. Putting a minimum on the number of hitters a relief pitcher must face takes away from the strategy a manager is allowed to use to win the game. The worst of the rules is starting extra innings with a runner on second base. It's just a gimmick put in by Manfred to try and make the game shorter. Baseball is not meant to be played with the use of a clock. The only new rule I like is the use of the DH in both leagues. I have alwAys thought it should be used in both leagues or eliminated altogether. |
