You clowns can't stop ragging on Jake after he's gone. I think he's been injured........You say he sucks yet you sucked Stassi's and White's asses for the better part of two years. A. The mentioned Marisnick in the game because of the trade for Taylor. It seemed relevant. B. Stassi would be the best hitter on our team by a wide margin thus far. Stassi would not have made our roster.

I’ve always been a supporter of Ryan Pressly and still believe he’s got the best stuff out of the bullpen, but if he can’t throw a damn strike then it’s all for naught.

If the Astros care about this season, then they should pore over footage from this series and watch the D-Backs’ approach with two strikes in the count. They schooled us, plain and simple.
How many stars does this lineup need to outslug the opposition?

Are we all proud Crane extended Baker?? He pulls Scrubb who has gotten all four hitters he faced to bring in Pressly who has been injured and hasn't pitched in over a week. If Pressly is healthy, he needs to be worked back into the games but not to try to hold a one run lead in the bottom of the 9th. Scrubb should have stayed in the game.......Baker brings in Pressly, who gets nobody out and blows a game we should have won. I will repeat........Dusty Baker is not a good manager because he cannot handle pitchers. This move bringing in Pressly was just plain stupid. Other than Pressly and the useless Sneed, the other three guys looked good, especially Blelak.

Expecting him to close a one-run game after being injured and not pitching in over a week was a dumb move by Baker. Pressly should have never been in the game.

How many stars does this lineup need to outslug the opposition? Every guy we have goes up looking to hit a home run on every swing and we pay for it. The closest thing we have to a disciplined hitter is Brantley.

You don't bring a guy into that situation who has been out with an injury and can't be expected to be sharp with his pitches. Pressly needs to be worked back in during a game that is under control or out of reach. There was no reason to pull Scrubb while he was effective.Baker blew another game with one of his dumbass pitching moves. We are seeing why the Nationals fired his ass.

Pressly had bad luck with the bloop single that just as easily should have been a DP, but otherwise that was all on him. He was the best choice for the 9th inning in a close game. It just didn't happen.
On the plus side, Bielak looked fantastic, Scrubb is making me a believer, and Altuve finally looked like he may have figured something out.
A lot hinges on the next couple weeks. We've stuck in it despite all of the pitching injuries and veteran ineffectiveness, so if we can get JV, Yordan, and Urquidy back we could be in good shape.

I have always been one who wanted to stick with a pitcher who was doing the job instead of bringing in a new guy who may not have it.. That is what happened tonight.......Scrubb had it and Pressly didn't.

He had a point about Ahmed’s weak single, but the walk, single, and double were examples of bad pitching.

Pressly is the only guy with MLB experience but fell on his face. He tried using Sneed in Anaheim to close the game after Osuna left injured, and it did not work so he went the more conventional route with Pressly. It’s not on Dusty when the players fail to do their jobs.

(That even the announcers commented on.) It wouldn’t have been a double play if fielded. Ahmed has decent speed, and Locastro is the fastest man in MLB. The bottom line is that Pressly (as usual) fell behind hitters and missed up in the zone. The 2-strike pitch to Marte was dumb, and he fed Calhoun pitches he could drive instead of dropping it low and outside for a pitch or two. That was bad pitching, and this is coming from one of Pressly’s biggest supporters around here.

It’s not on Dusty when the players fail to do their jobs. Sneed and Biagini are both awful. I know Abreu hasn't looked good yet, but, at least we have seen him do well before. Sneed should have been the one sent out with Mayfield instead of Abreu. I am a big fan of Ryan Pressly, but, he was not prepared to be put in the situation to have to close the game. He had pitched less than an inning this season and that was over a week ago. Scrubb would have been the better option tonight. Pressly will be our closer because we have seen the last of Osuna this season. It is Dusty when he puts players in position to fail and lose a game when better options are availabe. Dusty's first bad move was using Sneed.....That was the move that lost the game. Sneed has never shown he is a capable big league reliever. He has no business being here. Pressly failed to get the job done. If he had not been injured and had been pitching regularly, I would have used him without a doubt.....It would have been a no-brainer. I just don't think this was the time. I understand why you and Saint think it was all Pressly's fault. He did not execute. But, he failed to execute because he was not sharp due to lack of work. We are dealing with injured pitchers due to having this "summer camp" bullshit instead of ST. We can't help it.....that is just how it is. At least we are seeing that we have good young pitcher like Blelak, Javier, Taylor, and Scubb that we will be able to count on down the road. I would like to see LoCastro race Straw. If he beats straw, I'll declare him the fastest man in baseball. Problem with Straw is that he can't steal first base.

Are we all proud Crane extended Baker Let's try to remember it was Click's decision to give another year to the manager, not Crane Folks did this with Ed Wade trying to shield him from criticism when it's the GM who is making these moves and is responsible for them
Click needs to be held accountable for his decisions whether they turn out good or bad

I don’t follow the reasoning why they extended Baker so soon instead of initially giving him two years on his deal.

Any individual awards will be viewed as "meh", but I think whatever team manages to win it all through all of this craziness deserves some credit. No matter how people view it, this season is certainly a challenging one for everybody.
