7-10
At some point we have to recognize that we just may not be a good enough team this year. Maybe if we'd had a normal offseason and JV, Yordan, Urquidy, Osuna, Pressly, and Smith were healthy and played we'd make another good run despite questionable managing and a young bullpen. I just don't think this is our year (partial).
It's not that we can't hit or that we don't have good days pitching...we just can't do it all together. There's still time for things to turn around even in a short season, but I don't believe we've seen anything to think that's going to happen. I guess we always have the 15-30 start to give some hope.

I realized last night that they’re just a bad team. They have too many deficiencies. The offense can’t beat defenses enough. Altuve is lost. Springer is hurt again. Brantley has disappeared after a hot start. Our lineup is full of “hit a homer and done” guys. The bullpen is a train wreck. Lord Strom has been unsuccessful with yet another reliever trying to be a closer (Pressly). They can turn it around, but they’re gonna have to want to do it.

All teams had the same off-season so we can't use that excuse. The main cause of our problems right now are the injured pitchers......Verlander, Peacock, Osuna, Urquidy. Pressly is not totally healthy. Yordan will really help the offense which has really suffered with Springer out of the lineup. George is key to our offense. If he is in the lineup and hitting, the other guys seem to hit better. I know many disagree but he is more valuable to our success than Altuve or Bregman, All three are important but George is the spark plug. Altuve has been mostly terrible at the plate and his defense hasn't been that good, either. Brantley was red hot before having to sit and has done next to nothing since his return. We are also struggling from having a new manager who is clueless when it comes to handling pitchers. He proves that by continuing to use Sneed, who should either be sent down or released.....I prefer to release him.

All we have to do is catch fire at the right time. We can't keep sending Sneed out to add fuel to the opposing team's fire.

We are also struggling from having a new manager who is clueless when it comes to handling pitchers. He proves that by continuing to use Sneed, who should either be sent down or released.....I prefer to release him. I mean normal without the drama. Unfortunately the drama has created the problems. With the normal spring training instead of "summer camp"and starting the season at the end of March as was scheduled, I doubt if we would have seen the injuries to pitchers we have seen. Verlander would not have been ready due to his surgery. I wonder if the rehab routine he did had anything to do with his current injury. I don't know what the situation with Yordan and Urquidy would have been. Not having Peacock and a healthy Pressly and Osuna is why we have a bullpen full of rookies. On the bright side, we have found some young pitching that we can probably count on down the line.....Bielak, Javier, Taylor, Parades, and Scrubb. We also found that Sneed is garbage and hanging on to Devenski was not a good idea. The after effects of the sign-stealing scandal is playing a part. The terrible start Altuve has gotten off to make him look as guilty of cheating as the rest. We don't know for sure who cheated,,,,,All we know is the team was found guilty. We lost a GM and manager because of it. We don't know what the current situation would look like if Hinch had forced Cora and whoever else was involved to stop their sign-stealing activities. We are stuck with Dusty Baker as manager because of this crap. Our WS win is tainted and our players are the objects of contempt and ridicule which was to be expected. Our guys have to suck it up and do their jobs. Hopefully, we get Yordan back soon and some pitchers get healthy and return. In any case, Sneed needs to be gone.

I guess Brantley must still be hobbled a little bit. I would like to see Stubbs catch once in awhile, but, I expected Maldonado with Greinke pitching. I agree with giving Altuve time off.

Sparky doesn’t think Springer is all the way better with the wrist, judging by the way he’s letting go of the bat during his swings.
