Especially with Matt Chapman and before with Adrian Beltre at third base, you can’t live on grounding it past them. He tends to be a bit stubborn at the plate and try to either pull his hits or hack at the ugly Biggio pitches. We have very few hitters who try to take advantage of the shift, but, Jose is the worst. He has turned into mostly a dead pull hitter who gets himself out. The hit to RF yesterday may have been an accident. Springer has to be the most frustrating. Out of all the Astros, his opposite field hitting makes him the most dangerous. Altuve can get away with being pull happy because of his speed and hard contact, but when George gets the same way, it’s a long downward spiral. He needs to go to all fields, and be that guy who can carry an offense the way he did before.
