I've heard that hitters should PROBABLY take on a 3-0 count, but I have never heard of it being an unwritten rule.  The whole point of a hitter trying to get ahead in the count is to get a pitch to drive.  I think the Rangers are being babies here.

Most would not swing on a 3-0 count with the bases loaded... But if you have a really good hitter, and you throw him a pitch that he's looking for, all is fair... Nothing should be taken for granted....

Most would not swing on a 3-0 count with the bases loaded... But if you have a really good hitter, and you throw him a pitch that he's looking for, all is fair... Nothing should be taken for granted....

I sure would.  At all levels.  I've never heard that before.  I've heard taking on 3-0 to make the pitcher throw an extra pitch at least, but never to take just because it's some unwritten rule. If you get a fat pitch on 3-0 I don't care what the score is, crush that shit.
