I think the Rockets beat the Jazz in 6....but now that Jazz are in the playoffs, I can remember all the years I hated them, when we used to face them back in the 90s...Malone, Stockton, Hornacek...

I think the Rockets beat the Jazz in 6....but now that Jazz are in the playoffs, I can remember all the years I hated them, when we used to face them back in the 90s...Malone, Stockton, Hornacek... 1-0 lead by the Rockets. I don't hardly watch basketball (or keep up with it) , but did watch my first game yesterday since it was on broadcast TV. My one takeaway after watching my first game in maybe 10 years? It has become a sandlot playground game, where defense is abandoned, and 30 point leads aren't safe. |

Sounds pretty analogous to if MLB were to totally eliminate the pitching mound.... @level ground.
Just another reason to dislike NBA. Defense sadly is a lost art. Just think.... John Stockton wouldn't have even prob. had made a team.

there is no more defense, because the NBA rules favor the offense.... The increasingly ADD society has trickled down into sports. People want everything fast and now, and defense has to be sacrificed to make that happen. It’s funny how no one is bothered when the NFL cuts to another commercial when the QB has to scratch his balls. |

I was at the game last night. From the beginning, it looked like the Rockets didn't know which night the game was being played. They went on a 25 to 7 run to make it a game, but that seemed to take what they had left... Even with a close game in the last 4 minutes, it never felt like the Rockets would win that game...

Maybe it made their own team sick... the fans too... On a side note, Joel Blank (talk show guy on 97.5) says that he has never heard more vile things from a fan base than he did in Salt Lake City... He worked for the Rockets at some point in his career... |

LOL Jazz should have gone to New Orleans when they came back into the league... Funny story, my wife and I went to Utah a couple of summers ago to visit the national parks there. On the way we stopped and picked up two of my wife's sisters and my oldest niece. We went to breakfast one morning all together. On the way into the dinner my niece gave me a hug because I had bought something for her for graduation. When we all sat down I noticed that just by chance they had all dressed in a very similar fashion and they all looked very much alike. I then began to survey the room and noticed that we were the talk of the town. Apparently the locals thought that my wife and her sisters and niece were much more than that and indeed were sister wives as no other males were present. What a laugh we had about that. |
