I know some people here want to see him fail, so...
Did anybody see that Cole has gotten hammered to a tune of 9 ER in 10 IP over his last two starts? His ERA is up to 3.91. (Still above average but not close to elite.)
He had been 4-0 with an ERA of 2.75 before that.

Not saying Cole would have stayed, but Hinch sure didn't help, when he put in Harris to relieve Greinke instead of him. |

The fans that hate Cole for leaving are ingrates. He helped carry the team to the World Series while the hitters were taking an early vacation. Our boys wouldn’t have even made it to the ALCS without his clutch pitching.

Our boys wouldn’t have even made it to the ALCS without his clutch pitching. He was nothing but a rental, in the end. The Astros were just a means to an end for him, as he proved by the stunt he pulled after game 7. |

Cole was the no-brainer person to relieve Greinke... Arguably the best pitcher in 2019, at least top three... And you don't use him in game 7, to relieve a pitcher, whose stuff is basically very different from his own... Thus a great contrast for the hitters who have already at the batter box twice. I'm still not mad that Greinke was pulled.... But Cole should have relieved him... Oh well, Fiers was still going to blow it all up for us.... And put an asterisk next to everything.... |

Meanwhile, Keuchel has lowered his ERA down to 2.42. Him and Geo could be leading a pretty good White Sox offense into the postseason.
