At this point, we have no idea how the knee surgeries will effect Yordan so even mentioning trading him makes little sense. If can only DH and put up the numbers he did in his rookie year, it would be ridiculous to trade him. Trading Correa at this time is not a good idea, either. Who is going to replace him? We could move Bregman to SS but would need a third baseman. Yuli could move there but he is needed at first base. If we trade Carlos, we have to sign a top infielder. Unless we sign either Brantley, Springer, or both we have a big hole in the outfield. Reddick is gone and his salary is off the books. We have a proven run producer and outfielder in Kyle Tucker. Myles Straw has yet to prove he has any value other than as a pinch runner. We MUST sign a backup catcher, and, it can't be a total disaster like Garneau. I don't know why we signed him and moved Stubbs out of the picture. Stubbs is a much better choice. I know most disagree but we are in a position of needing to give George Springer whatever it takes. Yes, that may mean more than Bregman or Altuve. He deserves every bit as much as either of those two. i agree that we need to look for a project for Strom to work on along the lines of a Charlie Morton, who we NEVER should have let go. Had we kept him we would not have needed to move 4 solid prospects, thus gutting our farm system, to get Greinke. Keeping Charlie would have been preferable to needing to trade for Zack. I am totally against trading Alvarez or Correa at this point. I know I'm alone on this, but, I'd gladly trade Altuve if it meant we could keep both Springer and Brantley. Realism needs to set in, the Astros had their run....they can't re-sign all their best players.....their farm system has been greatly depleted in order to make the run they had.....they need to trade Correa, while he is coming off a great post season.... Verlander might not play next season at all, and then he's a FA in 2022. Osuna is done. Greinke is good, but he is old, and a pending FA after next season. The likelihood of re-signing Springer is very low.... So why just not accept it, the Astros need to retool....They need to get young, cheap talent and hope in time they can be the next Springer or Correa... I feel like Ferris at the end of the movie. But all of y'all want more.... What makes you assume that Osuna is done? We have no information to that effect. I am afraid Verlander is done unless we try to re-sign him. I have no problem trading Greinke but I doubt we could get much for him because nobody wants to pay that contract. We need to keep as many of our core player as we can and build around them. I had lots rather trade Altuve than I had Correa.

Wow. Speaks volumes about the AJ incident. He took a nice, subtle jab at AJ Hinch for pulling him in game 7 of last year's WS. If Dusty had shown the same confidence in Urquidy on Tuesday, we may be tied 2-2 instead of down 3-1. When a manager pulls the pitcher because the second baseman blew a DP opportunity, it shows the pitcher the manager lacks confidence in him and in some way blames him for the crucial error made by the second baseman......Baker was wrong in pulling Urquidy and right by staying with Greinke.

I agree that we've seemingly had a short length with Greinke at times. Why did we trade so much and pay so much to not have more faith in him?
That being said, it's not like he has had amazing results with us. He had a strong regular season last year, but struggled at the beginning of the postseason until the WS. And he was good but certainly not great this whole entire year. Arguably only our 3rd best starting pitcher.

This series has been played with a ton of respect. Both teams have respected each other and the game of baseball. Hard to find these days....

I hope it continues tomorrow. if we take the early lead tomorrow, that will be huge. Taking a lead on Morton will cause a lot of doubt by the Rays. I know we have announced McCullers as our starter, but, I'd be tempted to start Urquidy and use McCullers in relief. Dusty's moves have worked the last three games so maybe he made the right call. Our guys will be loaded with confidence. From what we have seen in this series, we may have all be wrong as to the leader of this team. In this series, it has been Carlos Correa in every way. The way he stepped in when Diaz started mouthing to Valdez showed great leadership.

Win or lose today, I think the Astros have really exceeded everyone's expectations this postseason. Especially rallying back from being down 0-3. I was actually pessimistic about the Astros going into the playoffs, based on how they played in the regular season, plus all the key injuries that they had. They definitely we're not the same team as they were the previous three years. The way the younger players have really stepped up is amazing/incredible. And you can see the veterans being motivated by them. Dusty Baker and Strom have done a hell of a job.

Whoever said "never under-estimate the heart of a champion" was right. We have seen veteran leadership step up front and center.....more than one, but, Correa led the charge. Baker has had a good series except for pulling Urquidy in game three. Strom continues to prove why he is one of the best, if not the best, pitching coaches in the game.
