Quintana was never going to be an ace though. He was always at best a good #3 with no health concerns. He's now a solid #4 with no minor health concerns. Honestly, he's the kind of guy we could really use with this young staff. A fairly durable innings eater that will keep us in games. Quintana is the guy I would go after the hardest. We would need an extreme stroke of luck to have Urquidy, Valdez, and Javier pitch for a full season the way they did this year. Even if they did they have never pitched the kind of innings that we are going to have available. So getting someone who can eat the innings and keep us in games is going to be of great importance. Given his recent drop off he might be had for a pretty reasonable price.

We need to build the farm. I would trade Lance, Greinke, and anyone else not named Bregman or Altuve. Homeboy Alex needs to get that swagger back. He looked miserable this past season. So, you would trade two pieces of the rotation but keep a guy who threw away two games in the ALCS? If we could keep George and Brantley, I'd help Altuve pack his bags and give him a ride to the airport. We need to be adding starting pitchers, not trading them.
