That lineup looks solid to me. Fisher has come on strong the past couple of weeks, though his K rate is still too high and he has been riding some unsustainable BABIP luck.
Reddick and Correa and Altuve and Gurriel have had a lot of very well-hit balls caught on excellent defensive plays but opposing teams won't consistently be able to do that, so we should see better numbers from them soon.
Gattis and Marisnick are the only two players I would drop at this point, with Gattis being the priority as Tyler White is far superior to Gattis at this point, while Kemp is superior to Marisnick by a lesser but still significant amount.

I think we see a regular out of the top-3 or Bregman get a day off today.

Quote? How better than Bill to "soliloquize" it "To be, or not to be--that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep-- No more--and by a sleep to say we end The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to. 'Tis a consummation Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep-- To sleep--perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub, For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause. There's the respect That makes calamity of so long life." For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, Th' oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, The insolence of office, and the spurns That patient merit of th' unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscovered country, from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprise of great pitch and moment With this regard their currents turn awry And lose the name of action. -- Soft you now, The fair Ophelia! -- Nymph, in thy orisons Be all my sins remembered.

For May 21 vs lefty
1. Springer CF 2. Bregman SS 3. Altuve 2B 4. Reddick RF 5. Gonzales 3B 6. McCann DH 7. Stassi C 8. Davis 1B 9. Kemp LF
I think there's something wrong with Correa's wrist and that's why the bat's staying on his shoulder or he's swinging through breaking balls. He is guessing because he can't react to the pitch by checking his swing right now.

Kemp LF I think there's something wrong with Correa's wrist and that's why the bat's staying on his shoulder or he's swinging through breaking balls. He is guessing because he can't react to the pitch by checking his swing right now. This has the ring of truth to it. If Correa is injured, he should know from experience that he shouldn't tough it out and play through it. He will just make it worse, and in the meantime he won't play effectively. I'd rather have him sit out 10 games and in the meantime let a Fresno callup play more infield. Sending Correa to the DL opens a roster spot for White, who can play an infield spot or DH, especially against lefties. Correa has only a .150 BA over the past week (24 ABs). Of course it's a very small sample size, but even if he manages to "improve" to .200 during this time that he is bothered by injury, it still would be worse than what his replacement would hit. The following guys can easily cover the infield in Correa's absence: Bregman - 3B/SS Altuve - 2B Yuli - 1B / 3B / DH Kemp - 2B / DH White - 1B/3B/2B/DH Marwin - 1B/2B/SS/3B/DH This 10-day period would allow Hinch to better gauge how MLB-ready the trio of Kemp/Davis/White are. The guy struggling the most will be the one to go down when Correa returns from the DL.

I have always wanted my lineup to have OPS+ at the third and fourth spots. The highest remaining OBP in the first and second slots, the highest remaining SLG in five and six slots and the highest remaining OBP in the 9th slot (speed being the tie breaker if close). I'd want to hide the poor or struggling hitters in the 7th and 8th slots.
With this in mind, here is my preferred line up YTD:
1. OBP 3 Kemp .388 2. OBP 4 Bregman .380 3. OPS+ 1 Stassi 159 4. OPS+ 2 Altuve 141 5. SLG 5 Springer .482 6. SLG 6 Gattis .438 7. 8 Correa 8. 9 Goxales/Gurriel/Marisnick 9. OBP 7 Davis .370
Of course, Fiedorowicz would also do nicely when he's catching. I'll wait on a week's worth of ABs before penciling him in elsewhere.
