I would not underestimate Verlander. He has a very similar grit to Nolan Ryan and he will want to prove himself come September and October even if it is in relief. Imagine him closing during the playoffs.

Imagine him closing during the playoffs. I think in his heart he feels like he’s wasting their money by being hurt and is trying to help the team as soon as possible. I’ve had nothing but respect for him during his time here. Great player.

Have to agree. I doubt that he’ll be able to return this season. Usually it’s around 18 months before they’re ready, and JV is in his late 30’s. He may be about done; we’ll see. Kind of unusual that he is already throwing. It's been 6 months, so that doesn't surprise me. It generally takes a year after throwing begins to pitch competitively again which is why I don't think he'll be ready this season.

Imagine him closing during the playoffs. I hope you're right. I'm positive that he'll try to pitch again and he might be able to do so for another couple of seasons, but with a guy his age you just don't know. It's not lack of desire that stops guys like him it's lack of effectiveness, usually due to physical limitations.

He isn't a wuss like most of today's pitchers. I won't be at all surprised to see him pitching in September and in the post-season. Now, I want to see when Framber will make his return.

JV will pitch again. I just don't think there is any way he pitches in 2021 at all.

Who is the one loss against? Themselves. Just like after the honeymoon period is over, all you do is beat yourself....

Who is the one loss against? A's on opening day. Then we will have a 161 game winning streak going into the playoffs. Astros lose game 1. Altuve is the only batter that gets a hit, and actually hits 2 solo HRs and walks twice, but not other Astro can make good contact, so he never scores on the walks Altuve on defense, he is not quick enough to convert the double play in the 1st inning....and then Greinke implodes and gives up 4 runs that inning....and then 2 the next two innings.....then he leaves the 4th inning aftergiving up 8 runs, 6 of them earned... Astros go on to lose 12-2, but there is a poster here that blames the whole loss on Altuve failing to convert the double play.... After that game 1 loss, the Astros go onto win 161 games straight.....and Altuve wins the Triple Crown, and easily wins the MVP.....and he wins the World Series MVP...... but that one poster still hates Altuve for him failing to convert that double play in the first inning in the 1st game of the season......
