A good opening win.....Greinke gave six excellent innings........Brantley and Bregman hammered the ball.....clutch two run double from Yordan.... With the exception of a dropped foul pop by Yuli which caused their run to be unearned and two messed up plays in the infield, we had a good game defensively.
After swinging at the first pitch of the game and flying out, Jose showed patience at the plate and had a hit and a walk.

I watched the replay of the game last night. Straw in his early AB's should have taken advantage of the shift where Olsen was playing him. They gave him practically the whole right side to push a bunt down where he could have walked to first.

I think Altuve just didn't realize how quick that guy would get down the line. He looked fine. Easily could have been 3-4 at the plate too.
They all looked most pretty good. Encouraging.

As was previously said, Straw failed to take advantage of the shift. If we have hitting instructors incapable of teaching him to bunt to take advantage of his speed, they need to be fired. In fact, all players should try to learn to take advantage of the shift by hitting to all fields.
