It's depressing remembering how bad Dave Smith was in that series. And how Jim Deshaies never toed the rubber even though the Schmets lineup was loaded with lefties If you want to stretch time 1980 playoff with the Phillies, game 5 with Ryan on the mound. Just off the top of my head, going into the 7th inning of his career at that point did not blow a game lead. That was a series of real downers. |
