I was wondering what kinds of experiences other people have on Next Door...
It seems like a free for all in some of the messages... Very little supervision... Too many people talking trash... Just like any other message board...

Some of the stuff that people are trying to sell on the site really looks like it should be thrown away...

Haven't heard of it. Sounds like the chat rooms at various sites that was real prevalent back. in the late '90's.
I remember getting one guy so riled up at the CNN room that he said his one wish in life was to kill me. It was a hoot, OTOH... I bet he ended up having a stroke.

It isn't really set up like a chat room, but people can post basically anything they want... Kinda like this place... When I signed up, I was told to read the rules, but it looks like nobody really has... LOL It is also set up by neighborhood. There are plenty of good posts, but they seem to be overshadowed by the bad ones...

Next door is pretty much Facebook for your neighborhood. I’m a part of mine but I find it very cluttered with 3rd party sponsored content.
I think it can be helpful when people are using it correctly i.e. as a place to post pertinent information (break-ins, neighborhood watch, etc.). However most people just try to sell stuff or bad mouth local contractors.
