I see we pinch hit for Altuve with Maldonado in the 9th... Did Altuve get hurt or do we know what the reasoning for that was? The story I heard when Dusty was asked about removing players was that Brantley was 'feeling ill", he wanted to rest Bregman's sore legs, and to give Altuve a break. Something about building Maldonado's confidence was also mentioned. Maldonado hasn't done anything to be confident about. I'm confident he will either strike out or hit into a DP if anyone is on base. Our catchers give us nothing offensively. When Dusty sent Maldonado up to pinch hit for Maldonado, I knew what was coming.........he took a third called strike to end the game and leave the two runners on base. I called Dusty a few names that would get me in trouble if I mentioned them.  |

My main issue with the Baker hire was that they just fired a player’s manager in Hinch. Hiring another one of those really didn’t make much sense. |

I don't have a problem with Dusty, really. Outside of not using the catchers to their offensive strengths, he's doing okay. It's not his fault the guys started hitting like crap, and the pitchers can't keep the balls in the yard anymore. I don't think he's a great coach, but I don't think he's a bad coach either. He's mostly just a figurehead anyways.
It just looks bad right now with our previous manager's current team kicking our shit in, one year after we fired with him.

Hiring another one of those really didn’t make much sense. Hinch motivated the players, especially the young ones. Dusty doesn't have the personality to motivate anybody. i still say Hinch should have never been fired, served his suspension, and, returned to his job instead of being replaced by a recycled old man who has never won anything. So far, Click hasn't proven to be close to the GM we had in Luhnow. I disagreed with some things Luhnow did, but, at least he didn't sit on his ass all winter and do nothing. He did trade for Verlander and Cole. He signed Brantley and Josh Reddick, who we needed at the time. He traded for McCann to work with our pitchers. Yes, he made dumb trades like sending Hader to the Brewers for Fiers and Gomez. He also got Yordan from the Dodgers for Josh Fields. I think we saw how players and fans feel about Hinch due to the welcome he received Monday night. If the truth be known, most of our players would be glad to see Hinch back and Dusty gone. |

Their respect was displayed by a wanton disregard for his feelings on the matter of advanced sign stealing and resulted in continued unethical behavior. |
