Nice easy inning. I expect Giles in the 9th.
Seems like they're starting to settle into their roles:
Devo for the hard situations. Harris as basic set-up man. Giles closing typical games. Peacock/McHugh wildcards.

Rondon is not a fan favorite (yet), but his FIP is only 1.66, good for 9th place among MLB relievers (and lower than that of anyone else in the Astros bullpen).
Partly that's because averages over 1 K per inning and has only walked 3 over 14 IP.

Kit Scheetz 33 K's in 19 innings pitched for Buies Creek in relief with an ERA of 1.37
Astros LOOGY in the pipeline?

Only 6 hits so far today but when half of them are HRs I guess it's kind of like 15 or 16 singles.

Dave Raymond just said Altuve's crying in the dugout. Then Toovy looked up and he said, "Eh no.. he's ok."

So Gurriel, Correa, and Bregman all with an XBH today at home. Good sign.
Altuve....not so much.

I really think a lot of the Problems at home are they being so upfront about Not having the WS hangover like the Cubs did. It has come back to bite them in the ass. Just seems not one of them is laying it on the line like they last year. Altuve has had more Ofer's in a 1/4 of the season than probably all of last year. They were saying a couple weeks ago Altuve had more multihit games than Ofer's, how long will that last

Good win. Nice to see contribution s from Gattis and a good clean inning from Harris.

Charlie has such a good hammer. That’s what she said. If you have a hammer in hand you have to finish the job and nail it.

I knew it was going to be a good night when Gattis hit a home run. I am proud for him and the team. I like the guy but he has done very little to help this year. Maybe this will be the start of turning it around. Charlie Morton was dominating to say the least. We now have the to ERA guys in the league.......Verlander, Cole, Morton.l
As for Altuve, he is getting himself out swinging wildly at breaking balls down and out of the strike zone. No excuse to hit as well as he does on the road and then stink at home.

It's like the Olympic show trials making everyone nervous at the plate I guess

I really think he needs a day off at home to calm himself. There are some players who, after getting the big contract, slack off and don’t produce in the way they did which earned them the big contract in the first place. I think Jose is just the opposite kind of guy. I believe he is putting pressure on himself to do even better than before now that he has the big contract. I agree with you that a day off would be a good thing for him. He just needs to calm down and play ball. If he does, things will be ok.
