The ESPN article said he "saw how the hitter was setting up for the pitch and starting yelling at him to take". I’m confused. Doesn’t that count as an order? The guy is in the batter's box about to hit... It's too late to start yelling stuff and expecting it to go well. |

The standing team rule for just about every team in MLB: with a 3-0 count the default is TAKE, unless you get a green-light sign. Just sayin' ... |
