Tigers - 5 Mariners - 0
I have no illusions about the Tigers having any shot at the postseason this year. But games like this make it a little better.

Imagine your team getting no-hit twice in a week or whatever.

Nice turn around from leading the league in losses two years ago. Our young starting pitchers (except Skubal) are all gaining traction. But I think Skubal will get himself right, quickly.

Imagine your team getting no-hit twice in a week or whatever. The first time was almost a perfect game because the catcher couldn’t glove a strikeout.

For what it's worth, Corey Kluber threw a no-no against the Rangers on Wednesday. That makes six no-hitters in MLB this year and it's still May. That's a record-shattering pace.

I'm all for big sluggers swinging for the bleachers when they have no strikes in the count. With one strike ... maybe it's time to change the approach. But for sure with two strikes, the focus should be on the ball finding some outfield grass, hopefully in a gap and making its way to the fence.

I prefer when the offense bludgeons a pitcher to death with singles and doubles. Home runs are great in desperation times, though. In our team’s case, you want endless homers because our relievers can’t find the zone.

Then you complain because he's not hitting homeruns. Until he starts pulling the ball towards the short fence trying to hit HRs, then you complain because he's not playing station-to-station baseball.

I prefer station-to-station baseball, preferably with runners going first to third and second to home. Of course, I like home runs. I just don’t like home run hacks with two strikes. I also like steals, sacrifice fly balls, squeeze plays, and advancing runners with outs. I also like when guys like Altuve and Bregman get hits to right field. I’m not a fan of a batter basically having four infielders on one side of second base, and the batter still manages to hit it to them.

I prefer station-to-station baseball, preferably with runners going first to third and second to home. Of course, I like home runs. I just don’t like home run hacks with two strikes. I love station-to-station baseball with slow runners on base. If we have guys like Straw, Tucker, Altuve, or McCormick on base, I want a guy at the plate that can make contact and not try to pull every pitch. I know I'm old school, but, I still love the bunt, hit and run, and suicide squeeze. I never wanted a player who couldn't bunt, but, that was at the high school level. Most of today's millionaires think they are too important to bunt. I love the home run, but, I don't want guys trying to pull every pitch to try to hit one, especially guys with power to all fields. You need a different approach once you get two strikes. Your strategy at the plate should also be determined by where the baserunners are and WHO is on base.

Yeah, let’s say Straw draws a walk to lead off an inning. I’d hope he’d steal second base because regardless of what Maldonado does at the plate, you want to have a guy in scoring position for Altuve. I personally think every player should have bunting in their back pocket just in case they really need baserunners. I too like hits with sent runners, which the team did well in Oakland.

The ****, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days. Goodnight.

My point is that Sherwin is never satisfied. What he wants changes when he gets it. Sherwin is satisfied when all the position players hit oppo on the spray chart, and all the pitchers hit 95 on the radar gun
and the infield doesn't look stupid on the defensive shift
